Letter From Louise French Harrison
In 1964, a young fan named Laurel Sercombe had a crush on Paul. Her best friend did too, so Laurel switched her allegiance to George as a nod to her friend.
To show what an incredible friend she was to Laurel, the friend encouraged Louise French Harrison to write to Laurel. Here is the letter from the summer of 1964:

Wow! That letter was incredible!
It looks like Louise and George had the same handwriting.

Check this out! Some fool sold a letter from Louise French Harrison on eBay. You'd think the recipient would treasure it and keep it safe.
Sold Date:05/14/2007
Channel:Online Auction
Source: eBay
Item Description A very interesting single sided letter from Louise Harrison (George's mother). The letter is on a piece of lined paper and reads as follows:
Dear Carol,
Thanks for your letter, so sorry George is unable to find the time to write, but I will do my best. The article in 'Tit Bits' seems a lot of 'Hooey' to me. For one thing I truly know, the boys are still just as thrilled as ever they were, + get a kick out of appearing. I know what I'm saying! Because I was in the dressing room at Wembley a couple of weeks ago. As for Ringo he enjoys his job + gets on fine with all the other 3. I've known the boys since before they started and I've never heard a nasty word between them except, said for laughs.
Love from George (Louise Harrison, (Mrs)

Scroll about halfway down this page for another letter from Louise. This one was also dated in 1964.

Dear Ella,
Thanks for sending the things on. I appreciate it.
If you could send me some recent Pix I would be obliged.
Also, if you have any of the large poster left I will have a copy.
I am quite busy here at the moment.
Best Wishes,
Louise Harrison
PS I would be glad if you would continue to forward gifts, etc.

Louise French Harrison sounded like such a lovely woman. Although I never met her, I have no doubt that I would have liked her very much. Louise, from all accounts was a very maternal, very loving and very social person.
I always smile at how George and his young friends could count on Louise to provide them with tea and light refreshments and a practice venue. If not for Louise, George probably never would have stuck in with the guitar and regaled the world with his music and brilliant insights. Hats off to Louise French Harrison!

I'm just thinking how no one would have guessed some 50 years ago that those letters Louise wrote to fans would still get enjoyed in a different medium.
