I stated earlier that I think he woudl've (or at least should've ) collaborated with Dylan in the 90s/00s. What else would he have done?
LIVE AID. And him being there would have made it a billion times more poignant, powerful, and probably it would resonate even deeper with people today.

I picture John doing Glastonbury or Coachella for sure.

After 9/11 I think he would have reunited the Plastic Ono Band and did something pretty fantastic with everyone.

I have a feeling Lady Gaga would name-drop him enough to join her on some stage thing...yay! (side eye glance, mouth agape)...well, you know, there are highs and lows for all.

Possibly. Ultimately, though, Kurt was a very troubled man. Unfortunately, many of his demons were self-inflicted and I'm not sure John could have helped him in that regard. He was quite a lost soul. Comparisons are made between John and Kurt. I definitely hear some inklings in his guitar sound (particularly POB John), but I think they were two very different people.

Kurt was more a loner, very isolated and depressed more than happy. Whereas John was quite social and alive, with periods of depression and sadness. I think Kurt sort of gave up, and John never did. He was far too ambitious, strong-willed, and loved life more than that. John tried to better himself from within up until his (unexpected) passing. KC kind of just let life's foibles swallow him and wasn't strong enough to really shout out for help.

Anyway, there are similarities I guess...I think John reminds me even more of Thom Yorke. That genius side of Thom, well, that was like John 24/7. lol!

Wow, I never thought of that... that's a brilliant idea! John was probably one of the few people on Earth who had even the remotest chance of helping Kurt (although Kurt was pretty long-gone).

Live Aid, yeah, definitely. And I bet he would have done at least one incredibly memorable Saturday Night Live performance... he would've been in the skits, too!

Yeah, I think John flirted with the Kurt side a little... but he realized early on that he wasn't going to let the confusion he was feeling get the best of him. John definitely made a conscious effort to choose life, imho, whereas Kurt probably didn't even have a choice. Didn't like 4 of his uncles commit suicide or something? It was in his blood. But maybe John could've helped him a little...

Shoot, he could have WRITTEN the skits.

You all recall the part in Magical Mystery Tour that is George Harrison's (and my!!!) favorite ever moment (aside from the IATW video of course). John wrote it!!!

I love it because it's SO strange and out there and hilarious. And probably John had a dream about food once or twice in his life (hey if you're eating unsweetened brown rice treats instead of cake you have to miss it from time to time).

Yikes, I didn't know that. Oy...he was probably too far-gone at that point. I always have sympathy towards Courtney. She mentioned that Yoko extended love to her after everyone blacklisted her as evil.

he definitely had bad depression and chronic pain (it is said ), that's enough to drive anyone to do something desperate.

Yeah, I just looked it up and at least two of Kurt's great-uncles on his dad's side and his great-grandfather on his mom's side all committed suicide.

John's grandfather was in a traveling minstrel show!!

Yeah, what a contrast. Ugh, poor Kurt Cobain. He just didn't catch a break, even with all that fame. It means nothing in the end.

I know! They tend to get more jumbled when we're dipping into so many- but it's all good!

lol! Wha...? I know they were high sometimes, lol! But why does John have that bandage on his chin? Did he fall on his chin? Did he cut himself shaving? I'm surprised in myself not knowing this with all the freaking A to Z Beatles trivia available almost anywhere...but I don't. Wallrus, you must know!

It's all good. It's not really serious I just wanted to start a new topic.

I think I read something along the lines of further collaboration. I love the Cheap Trick version of "I'm Losing You." That song is amazing.
