If you listen to the lyrics you'll find that's John is actually happy to have Yoko in his life otherwise he might have...
He wasn't that depressive by the time he recorded that demo.

John taped his vocal peformance of "Pop is the name of the game" over the second take of this, which you can hear on the posten YouTube clip. A naughty practise by John, remember the "We can work it out" demo by Paul where John erased parts of it to record some gibberish. Very naughty! :-)

Default Pop is the Name of the Game

Seems like all that exists of this song is the title and a few mumbles. Here's somebody tried to work it into a song but truly, the one thing that we have is John singing "Pop is the name of the game, bop-a-riba" or something like that.

Hmm yes... it's very special, isn't it ? Sounds a bit like an unfinished commercial to me; kind of weird....

Default You're So Square, Baby I Don't Care

...okay, so it wasn't written by John, but it's unreleased and it's awesome!

Yesss, that's an amazing rock'n'roll tune; John's voice sounds a bit like Elvis on this one... Too bad that it's unreleased...

Thank's for sharing, Maia

Yes, I know... I noticed before that Elvis isn't very popular in Menlove

^ Thanks for posting that, elephant man! That's one of my all-time favorite songs and I love all the iterations of it... though the final version with the gospel-sounding piano is hard to beat, to my ears.

Default Cookin' (In The Kitchen Of Love)

This song was released although not by John. Instead he gave the song to Ringo and it appears on Ringo's Rotogravure. There John plays the piano but on this demo he sings as well. Maybe not John's most shining moment but there it is!

Actually, that song was just a rough demo that I did.
I figgured since the lyrics were kind of goofy, the rest of the lyrics should be goofy, so that is what I did. Oh, a little side note:
When I sing 'Kids like to play with pop' I am refering to 'pop' to mean dad; allot of kids call their dad's 'pop' or 'poppa', so I just thought that was clever and put it in there. Well anyway; here is a much more better and finished version of 'Pop is the name of the game' I hope you all will enjoy. :)

Thanks for posting, Abacus. Nice to have a back story. Sounds like you had a fun time there!

Mostly I try to post John's original demos but Pop is the Name is such an obscure track I was glad to find it at all. Don't think John would've minded!
