Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
Unfortuantley NO *
I did however see Sir Paul's limo at the San
Jose show back in October. I was about 15 feet
away when he and Heather pulled in the rear gate
He was waving as he passed, and then he
stuck his hand out the window giving the peace
sign.
didn't get close enough to have touched
him but it was still way cool... *

Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
I saw Paul McCartney going out from his hotel in Mexico city in november of the last year. He came to make three concerts (sadly I didn't get tickets grrr) and the day of his second performance I went (me and hundred of people) and I saw him get into his limousine. He said something like: "Hey Mexico" and everybody started to scream, I don't really know what I did because I was in a kind of shock, that was awesome.
I didn't shake hands or something like that but seeing him was good enough!

Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
during paul's back in the us tour in new orleans we had 6th row seats but on the last two songs i snuck to the front row and heather was standing right in front of me! i almost fainted (ie paul is literally 3 feet from me and heather was in reach) so i tapped her on the shoulder and told her i really enjoyed her book!!! she smiled and said thanks but then kinda walked away...then i tried throwing my meet the beatles album on stage to be signed, but paul's guitarist dropped it *...well paul ended up stepping on it, so even though i didnt get an autograph, i touched and talked to heather, and paul touched my album, does that count? Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
I've never got to meet a Beatle, but I had a great moment of eye contact with Paul at his Indianapolis concert this past October. Our seats were very close to the side of the stage, and he came over and read my sign and then gave my friend and I a thumbs up and a beautiful smile, so for like about 15 seconds it was like no one else existed in the entire arena! I would not trade that moment for anything!

I would love to hear your "almost" George meeting. I love to hear stories about Beatle encounters and experiences.

My close encounter with George story was silly, but briefly tremendously exciting!! LOL George, when he did the Natural Law Party concert in 1992...he (and Paul and Ringo!!!!) were scheduled to rehearse at this studio in LA. Yes, originally all three were going to do this show, (as I heard it anyways)!! Well...long story short, they wound up not rehearsing there. The original plan was for me to be George's go-fer (my brother's friend was night manager). I was so close!!!

Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
Ringo played a concert in Dublin in 1998, (20th August) and I managed to get into his dressing room to meet him before the concert, there was a group of us, about 4 or 5, from the Beatles Ireland Fan Club, we had managed to blag our way backstage, to this day I still dont know how! Anyway, I didnt know that it was the dressing room that we were being directed to, and when the security guard opened the door, I half expected it to lead back outside, but when the door opened, there was Ringo, and since I was the only female in the group, they all (gentleman all!) let me in first, so in I walk, and said, 'Hi Ringo, I'm Pat', and he said, 'well you would be, wouldnt you' (you know, Irish and all that!!) and then I hugged Ringo, and kissed his neck, and he hugged and kissed me right back!!Phew!!! Then freinds were taking photos, as we presented him with a Bodrahn, (pron: bowraahn) an Irish hand drum, and he kept his arm around my waist, then, as we chit-chatted and he signed autographs for us, the security guard asked us to leave, but Ringo said, 'hang on, they arent finished yet, mate, I'll tell you when they have to go' What a sweet guy. I'll never forget it.
Then in Liverpool the following year, the same gang went to the 'Works Classical' premiere, which Paul attended as a guest, upstairs in the bar at the interval, Paul and his entourage, mostly his family, were having a drink in a small area cordoned off by ropes and guarded by the freindliest security, they were happy to let us stand right next to the ropes, as long as we didnt try anything funny, or take any photos, so when we are all getting ready to go back in for the 2nd half, Paul is one of the last to leave the bar (to make a suitable entrance!) and I hung on til he left, as we were both amongst the last there, it was one of those eyes across a crowded room scenarios, and he gave me a groovey slow wink, I winked back and we waved at each other, he was no more than 6 feet away. Mmmmmmmmmmm scrumptious!! I cant wait til the gig in Dublin in May, I am going to try my best to get some contact, I will keep you posted.

Wow! That was close! I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Were you at all nervous about it?
As for my Paul story...
I hadn’t been in London long, but word had gotten out that I was a Beatles fan and that I was hoping to see them.
A friend had introduced me to somebody who claimed to know Paul. He said he would see if he could help me get to Paul and would take me along with him and his girlfriend to the places he knew Paul frequently went to. After many attempts and never seeing Paul I was really beginning to doubt that he knew anything about Paul at all. LOL
One night (not really wanting to go out), I went with them thinking this would be the last time I would be dragged out in search of Paul, especially as I felt like a third wheel. We entered a club and suddenly my friend and his girlfriend were moving quickly towards a table. I tried to keep up.
They grabbed some chairs from a nearby table and quickly settled in talking to people they knew. The only space left at the table was right in front of me, so I took it. I was a little shocked when I turned to say hello to the people next to me and one was Paul! (I hadn't seen his face because as I was walking up as he was turned back toward us and Paul was the first Beatle I ever saw up close. I tried so hard not to stare, but felt like he knew I was a fan anyway.)
Most people seemed to have come in pairs, but I was alone and Paul was kind enough to make conversation with me. He was really easy to talk to and very kind asking me general questions about me and where I was from, etc. Time passed very quickly and it was the best time I’d had since I’d arrived in the country.
Paul left before we did (although I left shortly after as there was really no point in hanging around after he'd left since he was the one I came to see). I found out later that he hadn’t known that I was a fan that night. He just thought I was a “nice girl”! (I guess my flashing neon sign wasn’t as bright as I thought it was. LOL)

Just wanted to say I enjoyed all the stories. No Beatle experience is too small! I really enjoyed reading about those of you who saw Paul recently on his tour! What special memories!
As Kristi said, keep them close to your heart! (Well said, Kristi!)

Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
Wow!! These are some very special stories. What memories!
Unfortunately, I'm too young to have had any encounters w/ the Beatles back in the Sixties (I'll be twenty this year) and my mom, who's been a fan since 1964, never got to see them live... But anyway, these are some great stories, THANK YOU all for sharing them here!

Re: anyone ever got to hug a Beatle or shake hands?
No, I have never touched or seen a Beatle other than live Concert miles away from them at that...
Does typing a question to Paul and having it read live to him by a newscaster live count????
Our local news station in the city I live in did a live feed the morning Paul's Back In The US aired in the evening, I didn't know they were going to air it and I missed it, didn't know about it till they aired my question for Paul on the prime time news after the concert, mine was the only one aired on the primetime news....
Wow,weeee to all who have met or seen one of the Fab personally....
