Re: Pretty or no pretty?
I personally dislike any musician who has to show skin just to sell records.
It just highlights what a complete farce the music industry is today. The music is rubbish, and the only way the single sells is because it has a poster of the singer wearing nothing except dental floss.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I agree. The aspect of those singers that I always laugh about is how they start out as "the squeaky-clean teen pop sensation," then decide to rebel and become badass/skanky (usually committing career suicide in the process). Happens with EVERY one of them...

Take away her tube tops and fish net stockings, the gobs of make-up & glitter and the skanky attitude lies a real, honest to God Debby Boone type. No?

Ok. Perhaps not.

Re: Pretty or no pretty?
Ugh, I think Christina Aguilera is probably one of the skankiest pop "sensations" I've ever had the misfortune to see...she's such a dirty girl you could catch a nasty disease just LOOKING at her! Just disgusting.
I also REALLY hate the way she drags out notes and crescendoes...that's not singing, that's caterwauling. Makes me want to throw an old shoe at her to shut her up!

Re: Pretty or no pretty?
I'm with Harbridge.
Whatever happened to focusing on talent and not the image? Does she even have any talent? Does she think she has to (barely) dress outrageously just to get noticed? Pretty sad. What kind of message does this send to girls?
A beautiful woman is someone like Catherine Zeta-Jones, who has never done a nude scene (as far as i know) and yet somehow is successful on talent alone!
<stepping off my soapbox now>

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I do, too. I love her video for "Beautiful"~ it's a great message, I think, too.
Every day is so wonderful, then suddenly,
It's hard to breathe
Now and then, I get insecure from all the pain
I'm so ashamed
I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So, don't you bring me down today
To all your friends, you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Trying hard to fill the emptiness, the pieces gone,
Left the puzzle undone, is that the way it is?
You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
'Cause you are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So, don't you bring me down today
No matter what we do
No matter what we say
We're the song inside the tune
Full of beautiful mistakes
And everywhere we go,
The sun will always shine
And tomorrow we might
Awake on the other side
I think she is sexy. I also think other skin showers are too, though, like Cher, Madonna...nothing wrong with some skin.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I agree. And I think the lyrics in this song give a very positive message to teenagers and people in general who don't fit in to the majority's perception of beauty. (No offense meant to those who don't like her. )
I also like her singing voice and think she has more depth than the other female 'singing sensation'!

Re: Pretty or no pretty?
She has a great voice, but she should concentrate on the singing and NOT on the cloth-shedding!

Re: Pretty or no pretty?
The body piecings don't bug me so much as it's pretty common these days. It's her bumping and grinding that a bit disconcerting. I mean, I like her voice and I love that song "Beautiful". It sends out a good message. Actually, it shocked me that I liked that song so much. Even the video is very tasteful. I actually don't know what to think of Christina. I guess I'm on the fence.
