I think it was Aunt Mimi giving him a birthday spanking or something, just as a humorous publicity shot.

^ I'm not sure what's going on in most of these pics, Georgie Girl, but they're rather funny. John and Harry's position there could be the basis for a plethora of sordid tales.

But not much is being said of John in the dress!! Personally, I think it isn't his style but certainly his bone structure was made for long flowing blue. I love how someone stuck a random sunflower, as though to make it even more feminine than it already is.

I've read that the woman in the picture is one of their stylist and was taking lint of John's trousers, very cheeky you could say!

This one of my personal favorite beatle pics:

rob whittaker did some very unusual photo sessions with the boys. the best in my opinion.

Default Whole lot of questions to be asked...

Dear John, WTF is this hair? And when did you have a short tenure as a college professor? I don't hate it but I'm very confused by it, never mind your excessive thinness.

That's...odd. Just really, really, REALLY odd. But I'll bet Mimi LOVED it.

Default John Lennon the square accountant

It's like the John Mimi envisioned when she made that quote:

Quote:
"The guitar's alright for a hobby, John, but you'll never make a living out of it."

Default She probably hoped he'd become an English professor...

...and damned if he didn't look like one in those photos. All he needs is a pipe, a lecturn and a classroom.

(thinks). I dunno, I kind of dig it. Certainly much better than that godawful Amish Farmer look he had going on in late '79, early '80.

Oh yeah, he looks like a professor... but he also sort of looks like a cool writer in the 1920s. There's a certain nerdy classiness that presages certain types of modern hipsters.

His brother actually is a professor, but seeing as it's "ol Alf's" child and John was basically Mimi-raised, it's a good thing she never lived long enough to make that discovery.

I will say that he does look rather handsome. He has that thin, perceptive, good-looking appearance of a modern-day philosopher breaking for discussion with his feminist wife.

They are great pics. Just different from John. I will be updating the hair thread majority. This man had too many looks in his short lifetime it just can't be ignored.

Looks like he could have been hanging out with Yeats, actually. The more I think about it, the more I'm really liking this look. It's so...literary. You all know that underneath that wild rock and roll guy was this nerdy bookish writer/poet struggling to come out. Admit it and be free!

Oh, I know! Norman goes into great detail about what a bibilophile John was... got it from Mimi, apparently. He describes how John had a certain way of sitting when he was reading, and how he retained throughout his whole life this quirky little habit that he had acquired as a child. Quite endearing!

I've been a Lennon fan my whole life and never realized until I read that bio just how much of a book nerd he was! I love it!! And it makes so much sense... why he had such facility with language and ideas and why was so broad-minded.

Look at John with his little 'hot dork' look. I love it. Smart-looking men turn me on, especially when they ARE actually smart.

WTF is this?

Why does John look like some college professor with a bad hair day and Yoko dressed like a school teacher?

Did they get in trouble? I can't think of any other reason why the coolest couple ever would go out looking like this.
