The audio of the entire Rooftop concert is widely available on bootleg, but I've never seen a video of it other than what's in the released movie. It exists of course, but I guess nobody's bothered to "boot" it.

Hello Jeni, welcome to Beatlelinks! Jerry's right about a "boot" of the rooftop on video. If I knew where I could find it, I'd get me a copy. As for now, I'm happy with my copy of the rooftop CD "boot". Thanks to you, Jerry.

I think if you created a new topic for this post, you'd get more responses. But here's what (or least what I think) I know...

The Beatles performed 4 times over 2 days at the Japanese venue you're talking about. I'm not sure about the spelling, but Buddokahn is good enough. I seem to remember that all of the bootlegs circulating are from only 2 of these shows. You can tell right away by what they're wearing when they come out. I have 2 of the shows on CD, and at least one of them on video. They were professionaly filmed, so the quality and camera angles are excellent.

But most importantly, these shows are possibly the best recordings of the band live - not only because the actual recording is excellent, but because you can hear them for a change. The Japanese audiences were extremely well-behaved. There is of course the occasional scream, but nothing like what they witnessed everywhere else. All in all, a great set list. I seem to remember "Paperback Writer," "R n R Music," "Nowhere Man," and definitely "Yesterday." I think I see a Revolution Radio broadcast in the near future...

Well, I found out some more info about the 1966 Tokyo shows if you're still interested. They actually performed 5 shows over 3 days. Go to this page for everything you could ever ask for...

I have the light suits video of Tokyo.
The best known boot of Budo Kan is "Five Nights in A Judo Arena". Budo Kan is also the primary Sumo venue in Japan.
