Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
Hi folks,
Paolo, thanks for the heads up on the server. It seems to be very picky between 3 and 5 EST. I emailed my host to see if there was server maintenance going on between these hours, but they said "no". They said to check my ISP.
Just to cover my bases, I also disabled "hotlink protection" which I had turned on 2 nights ago. It seems that a mp3 search engine called "Singingfish" (owned by AOL) has hotlinked to my files and I'm getting about a thousand visitors a day from there (!). Until I figure out what role "hotlink protection" plays in difficulty accessing the files, I'll leave it disabled. But I may need to activate it again to prevent bandwidth drain.
Please continue to let me know of any problems with the server.
AnyRoad69,
Parts 2 and 3 BBC, 1&2 of Get Back Journals II (this has material not on currently circulating sets of A and B rolls), and, in addition to these, expect a surprise as well!

Welcome to Beatlelinks, hofner66! A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
Not sure why the site won't load right now. Hopefully it will be back up and running soon.

Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
It's frustrating, but you have to understand that nothing good is free. People assume that everything on the net is free, and that it should be free. But that's just flat out wrong. Behind it all, somebody out there is paying for this stuff. I thought about it for a few months before I asked people to donate to this site. You have to do something, that's all there is to it.

Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
Hmmmm... I've got the same problem. Pity I was stuck on the middle of the second BBC outtakes volume. I guess I'll have to wait until I can actually pay for those things. Thanks for the tracks that I actually managed to get before this happened!

Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
Thanks Jerry.
Sorry for the surcharge Beatlesfans, but to give you an idea of what I've been facing: In the beginning of last week I was averaging 30 GB's a day, in the beginning of this week 50 and bandwidth use was at 65 GB and climbing yesterday before I had to s-l-o-w i-t d-o-w-n.
Can you keep a secret? At the beginning of next month, when I get my new bandwidth allowance, I'll post a password here...As long as you folks don't tell anyone else, we'll work it out.

I already paid my $25 for a half year subscription and I don't regret it one bit! Yours is a fantastic site, UnreleasedBeatles and well worth a contribution!
I'm waiting for my password now!

Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
Hello UB,
If, as seems to be the case, you've introduced the charges to limit the bandwidth use, a less controversial method might be, as has previously been suggested, to zip the files in order to stop people continuously playing them from your site (if that's what the problem is). Although it's generous of you to offer a way for us to access the site in future, I imagine it wouldn't take long before the site was again experiencing the problems it's suffering now... Thanks for your efforts anyway, though.

Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
Hello Jerry,
I'm new to this so wasn't sure how to start a new topic.
I'm particularly interested in finding songs that the beatles didn't officially record but instead demo'd for other artists. I don't even know how many of these exist but you'd make me exceedingly happy :) if anyone out there has any of these titles as demos:
It's For You
I'm sure there's a Paul demo of this song he gave to Cilla Black
I'll Keep You Satisfied
From A Window
these were recorded by Billy J Kramer & the Dakotas (I have 'Bad To Me' which is ace and 'I'm In Love' which John gave to the Fourmost, which is rough but sweet)
A World Without Love
Nobody I Know
I Don't Want To see You Again
recorded by Peter & Gordon
Tip Of My Tongue
recorded by Tommy Quickley
:) I hope someone can help me. Kind regards Juxta!

UnreleasedBeatles.com
Hi Legs,
A heads up that on Sunday or Monday I'll be posting Upgraded BBC 2004. This is all the best off of Great Dane, Upgraded BBC and the recent YD release: Sounds like the authoritative issue of the BBC's!

Re: UnreleasedBeatles.com
Hi UB...
Was wondering if it would be possible for you to put up each album as a complete zip file as well as a track by track download, it takes a lot of clicking to download 10 albums
Thanks for a great site I'll be signing up very soon,
monito
