How much into Ringo are you.

This is something I really want to know.
Do you have all his records/cd-s do you know all his songs, even the obscure ones, and know about all his films, or is it just more about how he looks.

I admit I don't know much about his acting career, I've seen some films, but not all and can't give much background on them.

I do enjoy most of Ringo's album,"Bad Boy" being a clear exception, and know a lot of his obscure songs, b.sides songs for soundtracks and such but don't owe everything of them.
My normal cd-colection is almost complete, I only need to have the hard to find, "Stop and smell the roses" cd and "Old Wave".

Well, Legs, I do believe I have all of Ringo's albums in either vinyl or CD form, but I admit to not listening to some of them that often, so I'm probably not super-familiar with what you call the "obscure songs". (Like I could probably sing you the chorus, but not the verses!) I think Ringo has made maybe 4 or 5 REALLY GOOD records, but the rest are kind of hit and miss - a few good songs, some filler - and I don't really listen to them too often.

I've seen most of his movies and actually have "Caveman" on DVD, but most of his films aren't things I'm going to watch over and over.

I've seen him in concert 7 or 8 times though - does that count for some devotion? [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

I'm not really "into" Ringo, per se - but I have discovered a latent appreciation for country music since discovering he's made several music videos with other country artists when singing duets. The videos are fresh, the songs are wonderfully winning, and I just can't seem to get enough. I've even become acquainted with other country artists waiting for one of his videos to come up - that's a whole nother story, though.

I love "Caveman", and bought the DVD when I found it, our originally taped-from-TV copy having gone through several years of wear and tear. And even though I know the Beatles didn't really have a lot to do with the video, "Yellow Submarine" is still among my favorites, and I watch it primarily for "Ringo". He just seems the most realistically portrayed. Of course, we had to have the digitally remastered version, with it's slightly different arrangement, when it came out - it has surpassed even the original in my girls' view, and has been watched almost as many times as the original video has been, LOL!

The same is true of the old Saturday morning cartoons - "Ringo" just seems to steal the show [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I don't really think I'm "into" Ringo, so much as I identify with him so readily. Mostly the quiet one when it comes to business, when he's out there, he's trying to be entertaining wit-wise. He just always strikes me as not so much the showman as the shyman - and there's not much more I can say.

Actually, the only Ringo cd I have is "Blast From Your Past", which is fine with me. It has all my favorites on it. Not to say if I heard any of his other cds I wouldn't have more favorites. I just have never been a huge fan of his singing. sorry.. [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

I have always liked Ringo a bunch, he's not my fave but he's not last either. I have three of his movies Caveman, Candy, and The Magic Christian. Only three of his albums tho RingoRama, Time Takes Time, and the Anthology So Far (Ringo and the all star bands). The reason I got the last one is because I am having such a hard time finding Ringo's cd's. He is also on my Carl Perkins and Friends video. I would have gone to see his concert if it had not been a 16 and over only show, and since I couldn't take my daughter I chose not to go. He is great to listen to and watch on all the stuff I've got.

I'm enough of a fan to own Ringo Rama and to have Ringo, Blast From Your Past, and That'll Be The Day on my wishlist. [img]graemlins/wink1.gif[/img]

I have a few of Ringo's albums on CD, and several on vinyl. I don't tend to listen to vinyl very often though, so I don't get to hear these much. Ringo has produced some very good albums, and some albums, IMO, that aren't that great, but have some very good songs on them nonetheless. I hope to get some more of them on CD so that I will actually be able to listen to them.

I have seen him live when he came to London in '97, and at the Concert for George, and I would love to see him again in the future.

As far as his films go, I haven't had the opportunity to see many of them as they are difficult to get hold of these days. I thought he was very good in That'll Be The Day, and Give My Regards to Broad Street would have been much duller if it wasn't for Ringo. Sextette, however, I wasn't to keen on.

I have always been interested in Ringo, however some of his albums have passed my attention.

The period between Rotogravure till Time Takes Time has little material I stayed found of.

RINGO is a masterpiece, in my top 5 solo albums of the four lads and certainly still my favorite on the Ringo discography.

Each cooperation with George I have and have followed. They make a great team even with George only adding some slide parts out of the F.P.S.H.O.T. studio. Ringo loves the style of slide guitar, one still sees it on songs George does not play on.

I believe his co-operation with Mark Hudson and Steve Dudas brought him back to my interest.

Vertical Man and Ringo_Rama come close to my appreciation of RINGO and Time Takes Time also is a great album.

I absolutely love the Storytellers album whereas Ringo is a true story teller and makes it fascinating and enjoyable.

I am being updated on a regular basis by my buddies Legs and ABCKO, so can hardly lose touch with 'uncle Ritchie'.

I've got most of Ringo's lps and several cds. Since they're not all readily available, I don't really work at seeking them out. The albums, "Ringo" and "Goodnight Viennna" are favorites. I also have Caveman on DVD and have seen "Magic Christian" many times. I enjoy watching him on talk shows. When he's in the mood, he is very entertaining. I'll admit that I don't know much at all about the more "obscure" Ringo songs. His voice is okay, but well, it's not always to my taste.

I've only got Beacoups Of Blues on CD... Andrea's got Sentimental Journey and Ringo on CD so I've heard those two entirely too, and the one I sort of dislike is Sentimental Journey... I have lots of other songs in mp3, like the entire Vertical Man, Time Takes Time & Ringo Rama albums, plus other songs from the 70's, so I haven't heard it ALL, but I do have the intentions of doing so, since those CDs are so hard to find, especially here in Chile...

Well...I suppose this isn't a newsflash, but my day isn't complete unless I have heard, viewed or inhaled something Ringo. I believe I own everything that he has recorded, released and un-released, several movies and dvds. More often than not it is the obscure songs and not well recieved albums that are my favorites. I will be the first to agree that Ringo does not have what would be classified as a "classic" voice by most people's standards, but what he does have is a voice that conveys every emotion that he is feeling as he sings and I believe that is what endears him to his hardcore fans. When you listen to Ringo sing you know without a doubt that he is having a great time doing what is is doing and that is incredibly infectious and hard not to get caught up in and appreciate. Well Legs, since you must know...
I own the "RINGO" and "Vertical Man" CDs. The first being a must-have for Beatle fans. Actually I also own an original vinyl copy too. But I admit, when news breaks of a Ringo CD release, Im interested but probably wont buy it. Same with Paul anymore. On the other hand, my love of Georges music has grown the last 5 or 6 years, so I'd buy most any release there. But if Ringo is on TV or in town, Im there!
I think folks appreciate Ritchie more than many think.

I own the cd's Sentimental Journey, Beacoups of Blues, Ringo, Ringo the 4th, Bad Boy, Time Takes Time, Vertical Man and Ringo Rama. Sentimental Journey and Ringo are definetely my favourites, although his last 3 studio albums are really good too, more aritificial sounding though. The only reason I don't own his other albums on cd, is because I haven't been able to find them so far, I might just have to order them online.
I also own Caveman and The Magic Christian on dvd, which are excellent movies IMO.
