What brand of Cigarettes did each beatle prefer to smoke?

As a student John had Woodbine cigarettes
which belive it or not you can still get today!!!!!

Then later on I think it was Malberone, George had those ones too!!!!

If you get a chance to see the videos of their first trip to the US in 1964, you can see John & George smoking Marlboros. Of course, that may have just been what was handy while they were in the States & not necessarilly their preference.

While recording the Please Please Me album, the brand of choice was Peter Stuyvesant (sp?), according to Mark Lewisohn's Recording Sessions book. This brand was still being sold in the UK when I went there for a visit in 1996.

We know recording engineer Geoff Emerick preferred Everest brand.

While John was living at the Dakota, he smoked the import brand Gitane.

I beleive John smoked Gauloises,which is from the same maker as Gitanes.

Everest ciggies almost got some free advertising when the beatles were mulling over names for the Abbey Road albumn they at one point chose the name "Everest" after Geoff Emericks cigerettes.

I read in "Waiting for the Beatles: An Apple Scruff's Story" that George smoked Kent cigarettes. This was the late 60's/early 70's. I think throughout the 70's and 1980, John smoked a French brand called Gitanes.
