Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
I include Beatles in almost everythin I can at school. I can work beatles quotes into the most unlikely compositions. I think it bugs my teachers(since I go to a mennonite school, half of them probably consider Beatles music heathenous)

I can empathize THERE! When I was in middle school and high school, I did the same thing and boy, did I get into a lot of trouble! (Didn't stop me, though). I like to think that maybe the folks in question learned something about culture, thanks to me.

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
I guess my guilty pleasure comes more in the shape of Sir George Martin... I try to create NEW mixes and/or entire albums. Several solo tracks when blended together can sound rather "Beatley"...
I take a snippet of John talking from his "Anthology" set ("What went wrong?" and Ringo answers him "It was my fault!") and then go into a Paul track (like "Every Night")... Very "Let It Be" in nature.
Try to create an Abbey Road medley out of solo material... it takes creative editing!
And yes, I DO have alot of time on my hands, sometimes...

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
my guilty pleasure would have to be watching help and a hard days night, with my two friends, and squealing while grabbing their hands, cutting off circulation. a bit childish? well, yes. do i care? not really. another, would have to be, knowing the first chords to a beatles song, and when another song comes on with the same first chords, i start singing that song. i also like to do the four part harmonies and stuff with my 3 friends.

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
Hmmmm....how about staying up to all hours of the night to read about the Beatles...spend hours on e-bay just to see what's for sale...sing to them, think about em, dream..etc. It's great when I find someone my age who is as infatuated with them as I am. (18) Thinking of the tons of Beatles stuff my dad has that will one day be mine :0)

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
Yeah, welcome, DBG!
Come on, we KNOW you've got guilty Beatle related pleasures. We ALL do! I just LOVE to sing along with the Beatles and I JUST LOVE that hair thing on the "oooh" part in "She Loves You." My guilty pleasure there is acting out the part along with the Beatles whenever I pop in one of my cool videos.
Tonight I got caught in the act of having some 1964 era fun while watching one of my FAVORITE videos, the one where the Beatles came to America! (Someone walked in on me). I was SO MORTIFIED I wanted to "run and hide." (from "If I Fell). Oh heck, the Beatles sure did have a line for everything!
Now, I never cared that much for "Chains" (the song or the object) and we just voted it off our survivor list on another thread, but Beatle boots are cool! I also love Beatle haircuts! Oh well, that's why we're here!

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
I have always LOVED that cool hair toss thing the Beatles do on "She Loves You" and to this day I like to try simulating it while watching a cool Beatles' video.
Just don't let a non Beatles' fan catch you doing this, folks. It could be embarrassing.

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
It's fun watching the video of the Beatles' first trip to the U.S. and pretending it's 1964 and cheering with the fans!

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
One of my things is belting out Beatle/Wings tunes while riding my cycle and in the shower. I also took my assignment motebook from school and filled in a Beatle fact for each day so on the 18th of June, it says "Happy Birthday Paul!" ext... And then when I did a school assigment on Linda McCartney, I brought in EVERYTHING remotley related to her or Paul and a stereo and I cooked 3 of her dishes and I procedeed to tell everyone who stopped and looked all about them and the Beatles... I love doing that!

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
Wow that's a lot of stuff to do. I'd be afraid if I did an assignment like that everyone would cast me a weird look and then walk on leaving me there twiddling my thumbs.

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
Yeah, that sounds like a COOL assignment! I got in more trouble in middle school and high school for turning in Beatle themed work! What's up with that?! You are so lucky to have that leeway!
Keep up the great work!

Re: Guilty (Beatle related) Pleasures
Well I don't know when you went to school but if it was far in the past then now, it's probably because all the people that are teachers now were brought up on the Beatles. Anyone prior to them even teachers in the 80's were "too old" to like the Beatles even if it was just by a year or two.
