Default What's one of the stupiest remarks that you've ever heard by a non-beatlelinkers?

One time a women said to me that a fish isn't an animal, it's a fish.

Well I guess that makes humans only humans, dogs only dogs, and cats only cats, not a type of animal whatsoever!

To me that was one of the stupidest remarks I've ever heard!

Just because a fish lives underwater doesn't make it not an animal!

If a fish isn't an animal, then how come fish eat other fish?!

You don't see plants eat other plants!

And also plants don't move freely about like animals do, which of course as we all know fish move perfectly freely.

That of course makes a fish an animal.

My mom once said I.E. is more secure than Firefox, because "Microsoft made it". Which everyone knows is not true.

OOPS! I made a typing grammar error in my thread title.

I meant to type: non-beatlelinker, not non-beatlelinkers.

Why is this limited to non-Beatlelinkers?

I think it should be limited to non-BeatleLinkers. That way it doesn't hurt anyone's feelings or start a flame war on the boards...

I work for Iron Mountain. The Name and logo is prominant on my vehicle and on my shirt. I also wear a company issued ID badge with my photo, name and the company logo on it. I was at a thruway rest stop getting a burger and fries. When I was walking out the door to go back to the company van when this one woman asked me "Do you work here?". Everything on me stated Iron Mountain. I never heard that IM acquired any rest stops. To my knowledge we still are in a data protection and storage business. She asked me a second time "Do you work here?". I gave here a look of total puzzelment and continued to the van. I opened the door stepped into the drivers seat and started the engine. I was about to put the van in gear and drive to Danbury, CT. When there came a rapping on the window. This same woman is standing there and saying "Do You Work Here?". I put the window down gave her a disbelieving look and said once I found out I'd let her know. I thought having the company name and logo on the hood, sides and back of the van is a subtle clue that I work elsewhere.

Ok this one is a real loo-loo. It comes courtesy of the American Red Cross. My mother volunteers as a nurse for them. She has been sent nation wide to aide in huricanes and such other disasters.

Last night she was dispatched to hurricane Gustov. She was supposed to leave from Stewart International Airport. Her plane was not airworthy, so she was bussed to La Guardia Airport in NYC. She then flew a late red eye flight to San Antonio, TX. This is alot of travel in one day for a woman who is 75 years old.

She just called me and told me that the Red Cross has told her that she is no longer needed and she was handed a ticket home. My comment to her was "after all that to get you there, they send you home, unneeded. What a way for the Red Cross to spend money".

Two comments from Bill Clinton rank up there as being very stupid.

That was a real winner of a stupid comment. It lead directly to his impeachment, and proof of justice in America!

What was the second dumb thing Clinton said?

He illuded that Elenor Rigby was on the Sgt. Pepper album. Good one Bill, you're a true Beatles fan.

I can't forget Hillary's just plain dumb comment about the impeachment trials.

On a tour through Austria: ("Day Tripper" comes on the radio) "That's funny--we're in Germany, and they're playing American music!"
wrong, munchkin. Clearly geography isn't your thing.

In my junior year physics class:
Teacher: "Now, how many meters are in a kilometer?"
Class: "1,000!"
Student: "Do we have to memorize that!?"

about 5 seconds ago in my dorm:
Rommate: "god, I'm so dehydrated, and I'm out of water."
me: "...there's a sink." *points at bathroom*
roommate: "I know, I just... *indistinct mumbling*

I just remembered another stupid comment strangers have made.

This has happened a number of times.

People stop and ask me if my daughter Olivia is a boy or a girl when she's clearly wearing baby girl clothing.

I should of replied sarcastically by telling them that she's a boy and that she's the worlds youngest drag queen!

Since when did baby boys wear dresses!

That is a perfect answer, I wish I thought of it.

My mom just said that you can't leave school 'till 18.

But funny a few months ago, when I was 15, she said you can leave at 16.

Talking

I thought this was going to be a thread about stupid things non-linkers have said about the Beatles specifically, but I guess not. I've had to listen to a crapload of stupid things come out of people's mouths in the 45 years I've been on this planet. Here are a couple of Beatle-related ones (both occured in the mid 1980's).

"You like the Beatles??!! Jeez, weren't they popular in, like, the '40s or '50s or somethin'?"

And...

"You like the Beatles?? I heard they were gay!!"

The second comment came from a Michael Jackson fan. I was going to reply, "Gay? Well what the f*** do you think Michael Jackson is??" But fortunately I came to my senses in time and I didn't.
