You will be able to find the 1987 originals on ebay and used record shops for years to come.

I was in a used CD shop this week, and they were already sticking "Out of Print" stickies on the '87 CDs they had in stock.

I believe they are out of print, what can still be found on stores is the last of them.

Not anymore.

Interestingly enough, when shopping for the remasters, I noticed a few '87 discs still in the racks. Best Buy was selling the old double jewel case "White Album" for $30, while the new digipack one was on sale for $16. I should have said something, but I certainly hope nobody buys the old discs by accident.

But to answer your question, I highly doubt the original CDs are being pressed. The remasters are the official catalog now.

Target is closer to me than Best Buy. I saw that Target was selling the 1987 CDs in the racks. They have a stand up display by the isle of the new issues.

Like you I hope nobody will be confused as to which is which.

this is a good question. when i originally heard of the remastering project, my first thought was that millions of '87-series cd's were going to wash into the used cd market making them virtually valueless. that said, this past weekend i unloaded my entire catalog to a happy local merchant for $4 apiece.
