Tough one...I would have to say M*A*S*H, Seinfeld and Get Smart would be three of them, but I'm not sure what I'd put after that.

When watching sitcoms, which I haven't in years, I used to enjoy Frasier. Also Family Ties, which made me a fan of Michael J Fox long before he became a household name. Also fondly recall Perfect Strangers. Sometimes groanworthy, true, still, it was fun!

US shows would be Raymond, Dick van Dyke, All in the Family, I Love Lucy, Cosby. So many more, though.

Modern Family is one of my favorite shows.
I also love The Wonder Years.
Classics:
Diff'rent Strokes
Donna Reed Show
Make Room for Daddy/Danny Thomas Show
My Three Sons
Nanny & the Professor
That Girl
I love Make Room for Daddy. That is classic, timeless humor. You don't get dated references to then au courant pop culture; you don't see the cooooool cars of the day which mark a time period (although the dress and the antiquated kitchen and office equipment are tip offs) and you get good acting; a good script; good characters and sheer talent. You get really nice music and talented guest stars like Tony Bennett. I love that show!

Modern Family has great writing & a perfect cast. Some shows don't age well but I think I Love Lucy is still funny. Seinfeld pretty funny for a show about nothing. I am probably the only person who remembers Sledgehammer! It wasn't on long but I thought it was very funny. Frazier was good, Kelsey Grammar perfect. And I loved Eddie! (The dog)

I dont enjoy comedies that much to be honest. I like some British ones, Blackadder, Yes Minister/Prime Minister, Spitting Image... and the occasional American one - VEEP.... but other than that.....
Actually I feel that dramas often beat comedies at their own game - intense shows like the Wire or the Shield could be hilarious at times...

Frazier's Jack Russell terrier Eddie was adorable. Eddie's son was in a movie with Kevin Bacon.
I love Modern Family. Sheer brilliance. Ideal cast. That show like M*A*S*H* and Lucy as well as All in the Familly will remain timeless classics!
