Default MARILYN MANSON quote

'There was Lennon and the happy gun,
There were words on the pavement,
We were looking for the Lamb of God
We were looking at **** *****
Nothing's gonna change the world'

-MARILYN MANSON, LAMB OF GOD

Well, frankly, I think anything that discusses John's murderer is disgusting...I realize that the lyric is not PRO murderer, but I just don't understand the appeal.

I do know that Marilyn Manson is a Beatles fan, actually, I've heard him say so.

Maybe I just misunderstood -- perhaps an explanation would have been a good idea in your original post, as I've never heard any of Manson's songs, and I think perhaps a lot of people here haven't.

Hmm, well not being a fan of Marilyn Manson's music I can't really comment on liking the song, but I do like Marilyn Manson. I know...crazy ain't it? Anyway, he's smart and from what he's said he's a shock jock so I think even though he was paying homage to John, he had to make a shocking twist to it. By focusing a lyric on John's death, he is paying his homage to him but he probably knew that he would piss people off with mentioning his killer and all that.

I can't really judge the lyric because I haven't heard the whole song, but its Manson's style thats for sure.

Whatever; as dearly as I loved John and love him still, I would scarcely describe him as the Lamb of God. He would probably laugh at that idea!
I'll have to admit to never having heard the song. I an no Manson fan, but my other half is.

I didn't know what to say when I first read that either. I had no clue where you were going with that...or where Manson was going with that either. I guess it digusted me a bit to see it as well. I can't say I'm a huge fan of manson and his negativity...but it is good to see that even he respected John

Marilyn Manson stands for is evil. I mean only a weirdo would take on the last name of an evil killer (all of his bandmates do the same, such at Twiggy Ramirez (sp)). I don't really like his music. I am not exactly sure how to take those lyrics...

Although, the one thing that Marilyn Manson has going for him is that he is extremly intelligent. He could be doing better things for this world, rather then singing about how he is the anti-christ and all that jazz.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Nothing Marilyn Manson does is interesting to me. That lyric should never have been written, IMO.
