Default revolution#9

I actually listned to that 'song' for the first time in years from beginning to end. and you know what - I actually enjoyed it! Its a damn good song. Those sounds are so spooky! Its like a modern 20th century existential symphony. And it just may be the 'quintessential' beatles song. beatles music distilled to it essence is about breaking the rules and boundries. no song does that better than #9 #9 #9 #9.....

I agree. If you sit down using a pair of headphones and listen to it carefully for the full 8 minutes 45 seconds (ish) it's really, really freaky.

Mind you, if you think THAT'S scary, try playing it backwards!!!

I like Revolution#9. It's very good piece of avant-garde from John who was a relative amateur in this field, compared to Paul for example and other avant-garde artists of this period.

Thanks for posting the lyrics behind Revolution 9. very interresting...

Did you realize the effect this song had on Charlie Manson? He told my little brother that this Number 9 represented Revelations 9 in the Bible. Charlie believed he was Abbadon the destroyer mentioned in this passage that speaks of locusts with faces like men and hair like women, and with power in their voices. Charlie believed the Beatles were these locusts. So, he set out to start Helter Skelter in the form of a race war.

Charlie spoke to your little brother? Let's hope he stayed clear of the Manson "family"...

Yeah, Sgt....where the heck did you find those? I only recognized some of the bits, since they get really loud at some parts. Then again, I don't think I've ever sat down and tried to hear the words. I'll have to try that sometime...but not at night. lol

That "song" is work of Yoko, I understand how John loved Yoko but wasn't fair to the band.

You have to read it backwards....

I listened to it too, it was very freaky as well and very amusing!
One question, are all the beatles talking in it? Or is it just John, and I think I hear George too...
