I pre-ordered the book from Amazon back in April, and it's finally on its way, I've been waiting a long time for this! I did check Amazon yesterday, some already have 'used' copies at inflated prices, how can the book be used before it was even released by the publisher? People must have ties to the industry and only acquire the books for immediate resell. I just found that odd.

I pre-ordered the book and according to Amazon, it was delivered to my door 9/28. To date, it has not arrived. I hope it will be waiting there for me today.

I think this post maybe belongs in thread since its also about the new George Harrison documentary.

Dhani Harrison Honors Father George, Faces Fear of Missing Out

Dhani Harrison is trying to live in the moment.“I’m all about trying to reduce my level of ADD,” Harrison said to Wired.com by phone recently. That’s easier said than done. On Tuesday, the technopathic Harrison’s collective thenewno2 released a self-titled EP (streaming at left) on his own label HOT Records Ltd. The band also has a full-length album, due in February, that sonically explores the internet age’s manic fear of missing out.Harrison’s also weighed down by his participation in, and subsequent promotion of, Martin Scorsese’s poignant four-hour documentary George Harrison: Living in the Material World, arriving Oct. 5 and 6 in two parts on HBO, and his mother Olivia Harrison’s companion photo book of the same name also released Tuesday, both of which mark the 10-year anniversary of the late, great Beatle’s passing.

I have the book and love it. There are some wonderful pictures and some added bonuses, such as George's boyhood sketches of guitars.

This book is such a treat. I loved George's post cards and letters to Louise and Louise his sister and no doubt everyone else will too. What a wonderful book!

It's a very riveting, power packed book that will pull you in and you can finish it in one setting.

I love the picture of Harold Sr. and Louise going dancing in the late 1940s and the one of Louise, the sister with toddler George in her arms on May 7, 1945 V-E Day!

George was Harold Sr. from the nose up (although he did have Louise French's ubiquitous ocular intensity) and he was Louise from the nose down. George had the French nose. Peter was Harold Sr. all over again!

Default Dhani Harrison Finds It Hard to View Documentary

http://www.express.co.uk/features/vi...-hard-to-watch

Saturday October 1,2011

By Lizzie Catt with Lisa Higgins and Jack Teague

Have your say(0)

AS fans eagerly prepare for the release of a major new biopic on the life of The Beatles legend George Harrison, his son Dhani admits he has found the film difficult to watch.

The 33-year-old, who is pursuing his own songwriting career, says that having to watch his dad’s life story, including the harrowing occasion he endured a knife attack from an intruder in his Henley home, proved tough viewing.
The film, Living In The Material World, is directed by Oscar-winner Martin Scorsese and will be released later this month. “It’s really heavy for me,” says Dhani. “I already lived it, so it’s like watching your life fed back to you through the eyes of Scorsese, which is weirder than living it.” Dhani reckons George’s fans will also find the film an intense experience.
He adds: “We’ve been working on it for more than five years now. My advice is not to plan anything after watching it. Have a nice evening off.

George WAS intense. I have no doubt the film will be every bit as intense as George himself.

I finally got to see the book today! It's gorgeous... there is a great picture of George chanting, hand in his bead bag. But there are so many wonderful pictures. It's more of a picture book than a biography, isn't it? I only had about 5 mins to page through it, but it seemed more picture-book to me.

Sir Paul got to see the film...

McCartney watches Harrison biopic

Sir Paul McCartney and his fiancee were among a host of stars at the premiere of Martin Scorcese's new biopic about ex-Beatle George Harrison.

Sir Paul and Nancy Shevell joined Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones and Monty Python star Michael Palin on the red carpet at the British Film Institute in London.

George Harrison: Living in the Material World was made in collaboration with the guitar legend's widow, Olivia Harrison, and follows his life from his childhood in Liverpool.

Arriving at the venue, Sir Paul told the BBC the event had brought back lots of "fond memories".

He said of Harrison: "He was my little mate on the school bus when he was very little. And we were both very little, mind you. But it does bring back a lot of fond memories. He is a lovely boy and he is sorely missed by us all."

On Friday, Sir Paul and Ms Shevell became legally entitled to marry at Marylebone Town Hall. Their marriage notice was entered with Westminster Council on September 14.

Speaking at the premiere, Olivia Harrison told Sky News: "By a force of nature we (she and Scorcese) were guided together.

"Marty has such a great love of music, I'm really just very fortunate to have him, a great storyteller."

Academy Award-winning director Scorcese spoke of the difficulties in piecing the film together from archive footage and interviews with Sir Paul, Ono and Starr among others.

"It's difficult because you may have a great line of dialogue from one interview when he's got a beard and moustache and you cut to another one and you say 'who was the other guy?' We had to go very slowly on this," he said.

I noticed that HBO is showing the whole thing all at once next Thursday the 13th, all 3.5 hours, instead of over two nights, just FWI...

The book arrived at my house over the weekend and it's really great.

Still waiting for the BBC to announce when they are airing it, but as I have the DVD on pre-order, I'm probably going to get that before it's broadcast here.

:)

When I was programming my DVR for "George Harrison: Living in the Material World", I thought it was all in one film being broadcast over two nights. hen I find out it's in two parts. Those of you who didn't know Part 1 is HBO on Weds., Oct. 5 @ 8pm CT and 11pm. Part 2 on Thurs., Oct. 6 @ 8pm. I didn't see any listings of a later re-broadcast of part 2.
