Beatles made the scene at Shea on this day in 1965! First time a concert was ever held in a sports arena!
Paul McCartney did the last concert ever at Shea in 2008.
Tonight Paul McCartney gives the closing concert at Candlestick Park, the venue of the Beatles' Swan Song Concert 8/22/1966!
Very a propos.

Japgwapyon (Korean Nut & Rice Balls)
2 Cups glutinous rice flour Iglutinous rice flour is available in Asian markets)
2 dried persimmons
10 chestnuts, boiled and peeled
4 dates
4 T pine nuts, diced
3 T honey
1 tsp salt - PREP TIME: 10 minutes
- COOK TIME: 20 minutes
- 1. Dice the chestnuts.
2. Cut or scrape the seeds from the dried persimmons and dates.
3. Finely chop the persimmons and dates.
3. Pound the seeds with a pestle (in a mortar).
4. Mix the seeds with the chopped persimmons, dates, chestnuts and pine nuts.
5. In a mixing bowl, add the salt and about 3/4 of a cup of water to the rice flour.
6. Add a few more tablespoons of water if it seems too dry.
7. Knead dough into 1 inch rounds.
8. In a medium pot, boil the rounds and then rinse in cold water. When they float, the rice cakes are done.
9. Dip the rice cakes in honey and roll them in the mixture of fruit and nuts.

I love a peregrine falcon and think it is one of the most beautiful creatures in existence.
Falcon - a hawk with a curved beak and is the fastest bird
Kestrel - a hawk that hovers over its food/prey
Kite - glides like its stringed counterparts. The winged kite is a very agile bird.
Eagle - a beautiful, fierce raptor with a very sharp beak and the world's sharpest talons. Known to protect its aerial territory.
Buzzard - a much maligned and underappreciated raptor. A scavenger, this homely bird has weak talons as it does not kill and carry off its prey. Its beak is good and sharp for tearing into its food. These birds have antibodies in their stomachs/intestines that prevent them from becoming ill due to their diet. Without buzzards, this world would be less healthy and less clean. Kudos to buzzards!
