The only good thing about Yoko Ono is the Barenaked Ladies song "Be My Yoko Ono"

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
If you don't like Yoko, then you don't like John. Yoko was John's inspiration, therefore if you dislike everything Yoko stands for then all of John's Yoko inspired songs must suck then huh? Yoko brought out John's best. She helped him get back into his artwork. She brought happiness to John's life. I don't think he would have done his peace antics if Yoko had never been around or his concert for Attica State Prison or John Sinclair and everything else like that. You can sit there and say you don't like Yoko, but please don't give this BS that she is evil, she is a lesbo and that she killed John. People are entitled to their opinions, but I think when opinions turn to put downs of a person you don't know, then it gets pathetic. Remember in Karma, "What goes around comes around."

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
Well put,Steffie.
Also, remember this:if Yoko had not been with John,we may not have had the White Album,Abbey Road,or Let It Be. He didn't want to be bothered with the sessions, but Yoko got him to go(though her being there may have been unsettling).
As early as '65,John was wanting out of the Beatles-this being a good year before he met Yoko.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
John was John before he met Yoko, and would have been John if he never met Yoko. He was made long before they met. Without her he undoubtedly would have traveled a different path, maybe one better, we will never know.
And I admire John's genius but I have to say Yoko does nothing for me.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
Yes, Jtal, but keep in mind that by the time that Yoko became a big part of his life, John was at a very vulnerable time in his life. He was often depressed, and frequently questioning the Beatles, wondering if he should keep doing it. Yoko came along and brought him happiness and encouragement, which, as Stef said, inspired him and his work. In this respect, it is my belief that Yoko may have actually prolonged the Beatles reign.
As for childish insults and political commentaries in this forum, this is not the place, and please cease the immaturity immediately.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
You misunderstood Stefanie's message. What she was saying was that Yoko was very influential on John's work, and life in general. Therefore, Yoko was a very big part of John's life, and was in turn "a part of him." Stef is saying that it is somewhat hypocritical to love John and hate Yoko because there was a lot of Yoko in John, and a little of John in Yoko. This is very true.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
I heard somewhere than John felt he was a bit of a coward for not giving Yoko credit on the record sleeve for her influence on the lyrics to Imagine. Apparently that Grapefruit book was a major factor, as it said 'imagine' all the way through it.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
Penny thanks, you've said it better than I could lol. But all I am trying to say is Yoko is human and makes mistakes but people shouldn't continue to bash her when she hasn't did anything. Right now she is keeping John's memory alive by rereleasing albums, a John museum, she was the reason for Strawberry Fields in central park wasn't she? We wouldn't have had the John Lennon Anthology if it hadn't been for her and she was kind enough to help out with the Beatles anthology videos/cds/book.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
Yoko didn't "save" John any more than she "broke up" the Beatles. In fact, they became junkies together. She was just there and if she wasn't, it would have been someone or something else. And that political activist music was not his best material. It did nothing but almost get him deported. Maybe if they never met he wouldn't have moved to New York and been assasinated. I don't blame her for anything, really, I just don't feel that I have to look up to her because John did. I appreciate that she gave John happiness but can't see how that makes her great. She was a Beatle wife and she got all that Beatle money. Oh lucky Yoko.

Re: One more question What about Yoko?
Orig, we saw it happen. Anyway, I'm not bashing Yoko. I'm just wondering if we would even know her name it it weren't for John. And I suppose we should be thankful that she has been cooperating in releasing Beatle material (she stands to make a fortune with it). Hey, Yoko! Take care of Julian, will you?
