Re: Revolution#9
Revolution #9 is never considered a good song because it isn't the kind of song which you can dance to or sing along with, which I think appeals to it's overall uniqueness. It's a song where the only thing you can do is sit and listen intently to it, and every time you do you always hear something that you've never heard before which is a good sign of how deep it really is.

Re: Revolution#9
It's not really a song, rather it's an experience. Once you've heard it, it's old news. Like Harb said, it's not something to dance to or hum to in your car. "oooh yeah. catchy tune!"

Re: Revolution#9
I actually enjoy that song quite a lot. It's like television for the ears. I was enchanted by it the first time I heard it because it was so different from anything else I'd heard to that point. I believe the best name for it would be "aural artwork", or something on those lines. I think that style of "music" would be great as an art form.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I agree with Harbidge on this, but I have to admit, though, that this "song" doesnīt really appeal to me. I skip it everytime. I actually would like to listen to it carefully and sort of analyze it, but Iīm never really up for it. Itīs too heavy stuff, really.

Here I go again...It's a musical mounting! I consider it interesting, but I don not enjoy it...so I picked the second option.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Thats right, but most of the beatles songs you really couldnt dance with, thats what most people told me, I found it hard to dance to any of their songs, but then I wasn't much for dancing.
#9 Revolution, I listened while on drugs, its a state of mind, interesting, not a fave of mine, if they call it a song, its a song.
BTW: I quit drugs many moons ago

Even though it may not be considered a "song"..I enjoy it. If you really listen to it, it's very interesting. I was actually tripped out the first time I heard it. There's a lot of bizarre sounds..as well as things said by John and George.......

JL: "in my broken chair, my wings are broken and so is my hair. I am not in the mood for wearing"

Re: Revolution#9
It's not really a song. An audio collage is more like it. Almost a political statement in some way. I liked it in that it is very layered and textured.

Re: Revolution#9
um well... ha ha... it's definitely interesting, I actually don't mind it, but I couldn't listen to it more than once a week, or month maybe. But hey, I'd prefer that than some of the songs of today. And besides, it's The Beatles for God's sake, and in what other "song" can you hear John talk about sun brown underpants?

Re: Revolution#9
I like it. Whenever I'm in the mood to be creeped out, I'll start playing it. In my opinion it's definately not a song, but I still enjoy listening to it anyway. I always try to find the hidden messages in it.

Re: Revolution#9
The first time I heard #9 I was driving alone from Los Angeles to central california. It was really late at night and it creeped me out, so much in fact that I pulled over at the next gas station and had to get out of my car and get some water to calm down. But, after I listened to it again, I started to like it. It's very interesting and every time I listen I hear something new.
