Default 1963-04-04 - BBC Radio - John Lennon & George Harrison

April 4, 1963 - 11:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
John Lennon & George Harrison
Interviewed By John Dunn & Karl Denver
BBC Paris Studio, London, United Kingdom
Broadcast June 24 1963, 5:00-5:29 P.M. On BBC Light Programme, Side By Side

JOHN DUNN: An old Chuck Berry number, "Monkey Business".
KARL DENVER: What are you two doing up here anyway?
JOHN: We've come to plug Ringo, jolly good.
KARL DENVER: Wee Ringo the drummer? I think he's gonna give us, his one and only song...
JOHN: Jolly good.
KARL DENVER: The "Boys"!

JOHN DUNN: There's been one voice noticeably absent from the Beatles, that of George Harrison. Here's why.
GEORGE: [sings] If there's anything that you want, if there's anything I can do.
JOHN DUNN: Oh, we shouldn't laugh, George is awfully rough.
GEORGE: [sings] Just call on me.
JOHN DUNN: I think I should just add that the programme that you're listening to has been recorded, and we're actually talking to you from a few weeks ago. So if you were by any chance thinking of seeing the Beatles in action, perhaps tonight, there George will be, large as life and twice as beautiful. Right?
GEORGE: Yeah, I-I-I... pardon?
JOHN DUNN: On with the music.
