The Beatles appear at the Cavern Club for the very first time.

1963

"Please Please Me" number 39 (UK Melody Market).

Concert at the Odeon, Sutherland (Helen Shapiro tour).

1964



8:00pm. 1st live US performance: CBS's Ed Sullivan Show. US rating record (72.7%).

Pre-recording of an additional performance for the Ed Sullivan Show.


The Beatles visit the Peppermint Lounge, home of the Twist.

1966

"We Can Work It Out", 10th and last week in the Top 30 (UK Record Retailer).


Rubber Soul number 1, 10th week (UK Record Retailer).

1967
Regent Sound Studio. Time unknown. Recording: "Fixing A Hole" (takes 1-3). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: Adrian Ibbetson; 2nd Engineer: unknown.

Recording of rythm track, vocals, harpsichord for "Fixing A Hole". 1st session for EMI recorded at an studio other than Abbey Road.

Transmision of "Penny Lane"/"Strawberry Fields Forever" clips on BBC-TV's "Top Of The Pops".

Abbey Road number 1, 16th week (Australia Kent Music Report).

1971
Fans gather at the Cavern Club to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Beatles' debut there.

1972
Wings start an improvisate British tour at Nottingham University.

1974
"Mrs. Vandebilt" number 7 (Dutch Top 40).

John's live performance.

1978

"Mull Of Kintyre"/"Girl's School" number 1, 7th week (Hitkrant Europarade).

1979
BBC Broadcasting House, London, George make a guest appearance on BBC Radio One program "Roundtable". He helps judge on new single releases.

1981

"(Just Like) Starting Over" number 1, 4th and last week (Australia Kent Music Report).


Double Fantasy number 1, 8th week (Australia Kent Music Report).

A day of jamming takes place in Montserrat with Paul, Stanley Clarke and Steve Gadd.

1982
In Los Angeles, George receives the UNICEF Award for his work on the 1971 Bangla Desh concert. He also receives a citation for an "Outstanding Contribution to the World's Children".

1988
In Hollywood, George make a live satellite link-up with the "Ray Martin Midday Show" in Australia.

1990
Paul performs in concert at The Centrum, Worcester, Massachusetts ("Get Back Tour").

1993
British broadcaster Bill Grundy dies of a heart attack. He was 69. He was the first television presenter to present the Beatles on Granada Television on October 17, 1962.

1996

Anthology 1 number 29, 9th week in the Top 30 (chart based on record stores sales in Santiago, Chile).

1997
At the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford, Yoko's art exhibition "Have You Seen The Horizon Lately" is on display.

2012





Paul is added to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

2014
“The Night They Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles” taped at The Ed Sullivan Theater, airs on CBS-TV.

In New York City, the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery runs in the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, at Lincoln Center. The library exhibition include tour memorabilia, historic film clips, video interviews with musicians, as well as interactive exhibits.
