What Let It Be could have been
Been listening to a few LIB boots today and marveled at would the album could have been if they would have put a bit more team work into the album. In just two boots I heard these songs at least demo'd if not rehearsed:
GH: All Things Must Pass, Let It Down, Isn't It A Pity, Something, Old Brown Shoe, I Me Mine
JL: Child of Nature (sounded cool, with more effort could have been as good as Across the Universe), plus the usuals - Don't Let Me Down, Across The Universe, Gimme Some Truth, One After 909 (think it John's)
PM: The ones that did make it- Let It Be, Long and Winding Road, Two of Us, Get Back, I've Got A Feeling, plus Back Seat Of My Car, Another Day
RS: Octopus's Garden
plus a lot of the Medley from Abbey Road. consider if they had taken a break from the LIB sessions and come back with the idea of making THAT album the way they actually did Abbey Road, perhaps that turns into a double LP with the above songs as the basis for disc one, and the Abbey Road as we know it for the most part as disc two. OR...the songs I listed above as the basis for LIB properly done, Abbey Road never gets recorded and the songs used on their solo albums (for example Here Comes the Sun onto George's now single album called which is now called 'Beware of Darkness' because ATMP was used on LIB and perhaps a lot of the AB medley gets used on McCartney along with Silver Hammer , Oh Darling etc).
I'm just considering the possibilities. I'm sure you have better ones, but I may go and make me a cd-r of the above songs for Monday's ride to work.
