Note: In 1966, Paul used the pejorative "colored" during an interview. He wasn't saying it in a racist context; he simply didn't know that word was frowned on by nonwhite communities and all who were up to speed on racist language. It was the term he knew at the time and thought it was acceptable. He admitted over the years his lack of exposure to people of darker races, but fortunately music brings people together.
