Using EAC one can rip an EXACT copy of any CD in the same amount of time and with the same effort as required to rip it as mp3's. If you can make an exact copy, why do anything else?
Hard drive space. Mp3's are much smaller, how much smaller depends on compression, of course, but at best quality a Mp3 is still about 1/2 -1/3 of the file size of a FLAC and 1/5 or less of a Wav.
