Yeah, definitely need to stipulate what console you own it for as you can only play multiplayer with people using the same kind of console (so if you have a Wii you can't play against people using a PS3 or 360, etc).
My Xbox Live name is IvanP91, so any 360 players out there add me, would love to try out the multiplayer :)
