At the moment, I use
Microsoft Security Essentials +
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware +
VirusTotal Uploader for individual files.
If you've accidentally installed a dodgy toolbar, the
Junkware Removal Tool can often get rid of it. Its a command-line application but not that hard to use.
Use
LastPass. Or if you don't want to, remember a bit of advice from
xkcd:
Also, a lot of password "hacks" are actually really clever social engineering. That means somehow tricking you or the company to give you their password.
