That article about the Neil Young lyrics is absurd.
As a fan of both gentlemen, I can understand the sentiments of both, and since Mr. Young has since explained his intent, I no longer think that he made the touristy mistake that any old Sex Pistol was Johnny Rotten (originally I thought Young actually meant Sid Vicious).
But this whole preminition thing? Balderdash and twaddle. Someone was really reaching there.
Formerly we used to canonize our heroes. The modern method is to vulgarize them. Cheap editions of great books may be delightful, but cheap editions of great men are absolutely detestable.
