Sounds like a rogueware. See if you can get MalwareBytes Anti-Malware at it. You may need to sneakernet it.
EDIT: Sneakernet: that means with a CD or USB drive. I'd go for the CD as you may infect the USB. Though some higher-end USBs have a write switch.
