Revolution 1 or the single (hehe)

What do you think is better . Revolution 1 or the fast single?

When I first heard my parents' White Album and I listened to Revolution, I didn't really dig it that much because I wasn't crazy about the "shoobee-doo-wop" background. Then when I heard the faster version, I loved the song completely, it's so edgy, I don't know why it was not on the White Album. It's much more of a rocker, very energizing.

I'm thinking George and Paul were absolutely right in deciding to record a faster version of the song for the single. It rocks.

I agree. There aren't that many real rockers on and after "The White Album" period, so from that view I love this one with the distorted guitars.

Yet, I have always loved that album one and you know why;

ever heard a song about a Revolution in that soft slow jazzy/bluesy tempo?

for a band that was steeped in, and when left to their own accord played lots of blues, it's amazing how little actually made it onto records. because of this, i relish every note that did make it.

I like a mix of both of them, like in the promo film. I love the shooby boo bops, etc.

Gotta be the faster version definitely...I rarely listen to the other one

The single is the much better version of the two but I like the video best.

Which one did John record on his back? Like he was lying on his back while recording... So creative!! Uh-huh! I'm sure it was the slow one, Revolution 1. I have a picture of that.

Although I like the version on the White Album, I prefer the faster single version of the song.

I also love the video for it. And every time I sing along, I always add the "shooby-do-wop bow, shooby-do-wop bows" to it. I don't know why, I think they really put a fun contrast in what is such an edgy song.

I definitely think the faster single version is the best of the two, but I really enjoy listening to Revolution 1 and sometimes choose to listen to it over the faster one.

I really like the acoustic, Rev. #1, with the "shooby do-wahs". IMO, the Anthology version is perfection, but isn't one of the choices. For me, the fast version is just overplayed, even though it rocks too.

I love both, but I really dig the shoo-be-do-wops, and I also like the 'out ... in'.

I like the single version better. But my fav. version is this one my mom has on a Rarities album. It sounds exactly like the single version except it's got the shooby-do-wahs from the album version.
