How Many Beatles \'Reunions\'?
OK, just to get this going, I've always wanted to start this thread, and everyone can throw in whatever theyve heard or read. But heres the question: How many times have three or more Beatles gotten 'back together' for something or other? My memory was jogged when reading the 'wives say hello' topic. George wanted Paul and Ringo and he to run together for the Natural Law Party, to be PMs! I think this was in the early 90s; Olivia talked him out of it. Paul told him George didnt want that kind of responsibility!
There was Eric Claptons wedding reception in 1977, where Paul, George and Ringo played some oldies as well as, reportedly, "Sgt. Pepper"! I know there were several others, but they totally slip my memory. Well, theres John, George and Ringo playing together for Johns "Plastic Ono Band" LP. But who can name some others they've heard about? [ Oct 25, 2003, 05:21 AM: Message Edited By: joelcrowservo ] |

Re: How Many Beatles \'Reunions\'?
I have heard of a meeting, somewhere in the 70's of Paul, George and Ringo. John would come to. As they sat together someone deliverd the message that John couldn't come.

And Legs..I think the one you mean is where John sent balloons over instead of a response, and George called and yelled at him, something like "You get over here, you, Lennon!". Yoko and her Taot cards deciding if he could see PG&R. Hmmf. |
Re: How Many Beatles \'Reunions\'?
Yes that's the one, with balloons. I forgot the full details of that meeting.

I'm sure thats right, I was just working from memory, which is about as reliable as a Geoffry Gilliano book.

Re: How Many Beatles \'Reunions\'?
And also that one sad reunion where Paul is at John's door (Dakota Building) with a guitar in hand ready to jam with him but John rejected him saying
OH WOW I don't remember what he said... maybe someone can finish it off for me! haha... I know someone out there knows! |

i think it was something like that. And my contribution to this thread?? There was a reunion with John and Paul onstage with Stevie Wonder in 1974 or 76 during John's "Lost Weeken year", in which Paul invited John to help him with the recording of Venus and Mars. john had originally agreed to lend Paul a hand, and even asked Mae Pang about it. She told him it would be a fabulous idea and a great opportunity to save his tattered friendship. Unfortunately, around that time Yoko came back into the scene, and just a few days before joining Paul in the scheduled date at the studio, John called tu turn his invitation down. DARN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [ Oct 27, 2003, 07:19 AM: Message Edited By: Cream Tangerine ] |

Re: How Many Beatles \'Reunions\'?
Well if we got down to two Fabs it's easy. Concert for Bangla Desh, Paul and Ringo on Flaming Pie, a few of Ringo's albums, and the list can go on and on
