Extra Songs
I was just wondering about the bonus songs on remastered CDs. How many of you think the unreleased songs and demo versions really add something to the album.
For the most part the added songs don't really do much for me. The exceptions are the live songs on the end of Blood Sweat & Tears second album. One is a Blistering version of Smiling Phases. And some of the unreleased stuff on the three remastered Cheap Trick CDs are fun. [ Oct 23, 2003, 02:46 PM: Message Edited By: Blackguard ] |
Re: Extra Songs
Since this is music-related, I'll move this to Northern Songs.

Re: Extra Songs
I hate it when they add outtakes or whatever to the end of the remastered album. Like the remastered Love CDs were like that. It ruins the integrit of the album as a piece of art (not that I like Love in the first place).
I say add a 2nd disc, even if it's 23 minutes like another reissued album we know is coming out... |
Re: Extra Songs
I agree, Ono. I remember when David Bowie's catalogue was re-issued with extras: not only did they ruin the flow of the album, but EMI managed to put the wrong archive tracks on some of them... I've never really liked 2-on-1s either, but I acknowledge that they're a neccesary evil when it comes to back catalogue (well, it's better than the alternative of paying for 2 separate CDs).

Re: Extra Songs
I like bonus tracks. Albums like Mind Games for instance: they're good, but nobody would pay for a two-disc version especially if the second disc only had three songs.
