Doctor Bob
Leading on from the last question...if we look closely at the Magical Mystery Tour booklet page 11 above caption 15, we can see several other characters inspired by John Lennon's illustrations.
It's obvious that the artist, Bob Gibson, was paying tribute to John here. Which of these Lennon-inspired characters in the Magic Piper Cafe could be said to be the odd man out and why? When naming the character please give the name of the chapter he appears in. A two point question. |
Clue : to find the odd man out ask yourself what year the characters come from.
|
Is the MMT booklet somewhere online for viewing?
|
I really dig the artwork.

We can see the answer clearly in your link. |
The Moldy Moldy Man. Chapter 21.

Remember we're looking for an illustration in a chapter which is also in the booklet image. As far as I can see there's no illustration for the moldy man. |
Large John (or whomever is the subject of the drawing of the figure w the "Parable" on his shoulder from the chapter entitled Treasure Ivan) is evidently from a previous century.
|
Large John is one of the characters present but he's not the odd man out since it's not always easy to say what century these guys come from.
But it was a good guess. |
It's been a week. Colonel Angus has given it the old college try. No one else is guessing. How about giving us another question?
|
Well I can give you another clue. The odd man out is not from the same book.
|
Since this question has been around for over a week, it's now worth three points.
|
In the link johncharles posted you can see the character in the bottom right corner of illustration 15.
Basically, if you can find the book and chapter he comes from you can win three points! |
OK I'm closing this question.
The character you were looking for is a funny green guy who walks on his hands because he doesn't appear to have any legs. He's the odd man out because he's the only character from John's second book, A Spaniard In The Works. He appears in the chapter entitled "The Faulty Bagnose". |
