I'm not sure where the thread has gone, but since there seems to be a bit of want for it, here's the picture:

Good ol' Pole McCartney, as someone once put it!
(I myself have always thought there may be some other explanation - why would he position himself like that in the first place - but what do I know? :teeth1:)

Oh no problem; it was my pleasure. :laugh5:

But randomly: is that him saying, "...great to see you back in New Orleans, man..." before Listen to What the Man Said begins? What a funny, incredibly different voice from him!

I've always wondered what he mumbles at the beginning of that song!

marie May 26, 2005 10:41 PM

I actually flubbed it a bit. Verbatim, he says: "...really good to see you down in New Orleans, man..." Funny imitation, I still say.

Some more particularly random thoughts on his voice:
For a long time I've been trying to figure out how he's able to force his gruff voice at will. Not yet have I formulated an answer.

He's one of those people that, when they speak, seem to have sand in their throats. It's quite a lovely sound -- like smooth gravel. Other than that, it's difficult for me to explain! I adore his voice; maybe it's obvious! :teeth1:

"Jet" is a great song.

beatlebangs1964 May 27, 2005 10:42 AM

Sally & Milk, you have the raciest minds at Beatle Links! :laugh5:

"Jet" is a wondeful song. I love the way Paul says "Sergeant Major." :smile1:
Now just imagine if he sang that with "Pepper" replacing "Major!" :laugh4:

I wonder if Paul liked bulldogs, including Boston bulls.

A family man --- all the more reasons I'm such a big Paul fan.

Paul has written the world's most beautiful love songs and he is a versatile talent.

I also admire Paul's humanitarinism and reverence for life forms.

When I was little, I loved it when people called Paul "the Balladeering Beatle." Paul McCartney is truly a class act and nonpareil artist. And yeah, he sure has a very pleasant, classy voice. Just listen to his dulcet tones on his beautiful ballads. He also has a very pleasant speaking voice. I love listening to him.

I love the way Paul has accepted and embraced his Beatle roots, musically speaking. When I saw his Red Square concert on TV on 9/18/03, my favorite part was when he sang "Things We Said Today." That is one of my all time very favorite songs.

Paul is a good Rx for any type of hard day's night you've had.

Paul exudes charm and class. I also think he is a nice person and his head is on straight and that he has a solid, inner core and I respect him.

I love Paul's bassline in "Lovely Rita". Excellent addition, Paul! :thumbu2:
I also love the way he pronounces "book" in the song. :teeth1:

I know what you mean... I love when he sings "yellow olange and blue" in All Together Now, and that bit in the Let It Be movie when they're working on I've Got A Feeling and he sings "...somebody who looks like you! GOOD MORNING!" :teeth1:
