New

Here's the "New" song from Paul...

Colonel Angus Aug 29, 2013 11:30 AM

Meh, this one doesn't grab me but I still preordered it. I wonder if he used the touring band for this album. Not much info available yet.

Legs Aug 29, 2013 12:22 PM

Bit of a light weight pop song, but I don't mind that, it's a nice and catchy song. Hints of "Penny Lane", but it also reminds me of "See your sunshine" from MAF, in fact it wouldn't been out of place on that album. A typical Macca song with a nice catchy melody.

Paul said in an interview that the song isn't typical for the whole album, which the prevous lead of singles weren't either.

Let's hope that's true... I don't dig the song one bit.

Lynner Aug 31, 2013 12:12 PM

I've heard it a few times now. I do like it. Nice tune. It's pretty catchy.

lennonluvr9 Sep 07, 2013 05:21 AM

I kinda like it. I think its catchy :smile1:

beatlelover45223 Sep 07, 2013 09:52 PM

Catchy but kind of soft.... Still love ya Paul!

Zimmerman The Gnome Sep 08, 2013 06:44 AM

Weak song, would fit of any of his albums from last 20 years. Doesn't make me want to rush and buy the album.

Jerry Sep 11, 2013 02:11 PM

Here's an acoustic version, backstage in Regina, Canada...

Colonel Angus Sep 11, 2013 02:27 PM

Talking about the album, Paul said: “It's funny, when I play people the album they’re surprised it’s me. A lot of the tracks are quite varied and not necessarily in a style you'd recognise as mine. I didn't want it to all sound the same. I really enjoyed making this album. It's always great to get a chance to get into the studio with a bunch of new songs and I was lucky to work with some very cool producers. We had a lot of fun.”

Paul worked on the album with producers Paul Epworth, Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Giles Martin.

Commenting on the process, Paul said: “The original idea was to go to a couple of producers whose work I loved, to see who I got on with best - but it turned out I got on with all of them! We made something really different with each producer, so I couldn’t choose and ended up working with all four. We just had a good time in different ways.“

The album was recorded at Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Avatar Studios, New York; Abbey Road Studios, London; Air Studios, London; Wolf Tone Studios, London and Hog Hill Mill, East Sussex.
