Deep Throat
The past week I really thought we were thrown back in time. Either that or that we were in the States. The political world, especially the christian parties were in schock, the reason? The dutch public television was going to broadcast the porn flick "Deep Throat".
I didn't think it was posible in this modern age that political parties would try to censor the media, especially not over a porn movie. Ofcourse a movie with a good dose of violence is alright. All the old arguments like sex should be enjoyed between two people who love each other in the privacy of their bedroom, were heard in heated discusions. It's all very nice when you're in love with someone, but what if you haven't met that person yet. There is to much porn everywhere was another argument. I was walking down the street but couln't find it. Ofcourse there is plenty of porn spam on links, but I am not complaining.
Sex is a normal healty thing and not only meant to produce new human beings. Also perfectly alright to do it alone with a little help from a porn movie. But every seed is sacred as they say.
Fortunatly "Deep Throat" got its airing. Much to the annoyance to some christian political parties, but it would be a scary thing if we would listen to those.

All the commotion about this broadcast was totally pointless and also does not make sense to me, Legs.
When you see how much sex adverts are on some Dutch TV stations at night for the socalled phone lines but also for dating with clear video shots of girls/women, than this late night movie from a few decades ago is not something to be concerned about I believe. Just a waste of time impo. I did not watch it btw. |

Not sure. Sex is good and natural only as long as nobody is paying for it.
Although 'Deep Throat' may be well included in the 'good' category, Linda Lovelace hardly got anything for it. |

Looks like this was discussed a few weeks back but let me just jump on the bandwagon...
I am pleased that they broadcast it. Over here in the UK we heard nothing of this commotion. I am pretty sure it will never screen here on public TV. I don't think there is anything wrong with porn - well of course in some circumstances there is some MAJOR stuff wrong with it depending on who is taking part - and I don't know if people think I am some sort of sex-mad freak for being that way. As a woman I don't like this automatic assumption that some people have that I must be all "it's degrading blah blah blah". For one thing I don't think that is a particularly feminist attitude and for another, it ISN'T! I think Linda Lovelace is a bit of an exception to my "there is nothing wrong" therory though. Didn't she come out with some story that she was tricked into it and was raped and abused and drugged and all sorts of stuff like that?? |
