I don't know about the paintings, but that sounds like something he would do. I know one LSD story John told me...he was told about this by Paul, however, and did not remember it himself.
It seems that one night John was on acid and he got a little nauseous during a recording session and so he went up to the Abbey Road studios roof for some fresh air to help him feel better. He was gone a long while, so Paul was sent to find him, and he was standing there looking up at the stars--on the very edge of the (railingless) roof! Paul talked to him calmly for a while, and got him to come back. Later that night, Paul tried LSD for the first time.

hello kiddies. i've got an interesting question for you. i was reading this book about john and it mentioned at one point that after the dentist incident, he, george, pattie, and cynthia went back to kenwood and the three others fell asleep, but john stayed up and did these amazing drawings/paintings/whatever. does anyone have an idea of where i can find info on the art he did that night?? i dunno. maybe i'm just imagining things, but if anyone has an answer let me know. peace. graemlins/peace.gif

yeah angel, i've heard that one. it's on the anthologies i think. george martin said he went up with john and john goes to the edge of the parapet, looks up at the stars, and says, "They're amazing!" and george martin kind of nodded but thought whatever john was seeing at the time was a lot greater than what was actually there. it's a good story, in my opinion. images/icons/smile.gif
