View Full Version : 21st Annerversary !
Beatle Chick
Nov 28, 2001, 01:21 AM
Next Saturday will be the 21st annerversary
of our darling John's death. A day which
is hard for alot of people including me.
It's the day where we pay tribute to John.
This year I will be making the 4hr train
ride to Liverpool so that I can put some
flowers down at Menlove Avenue,It's the 1st
year Ive ever been up there to see his
house. Ive written a song for him and I
want to know what you think?
Please add your own messages for John and
I'll take them with me.
The song is a Roy Orbison song called
Careless Heart and Ive changed the words
round a bit!!!!
CARELESS HEART
I had somebody
Somebody who loved me
Someone so good to me
John, You were my angel
You were my heaven
But he was too blind to see
He let you slip away
I guess he never knew
I had the world with you
I'd be there
Still be there in your arms
If not for his careless heart
You'd still be loving me
If not for his careless heart
You'd still be mine
He had his chances
He took advantage
He took it all too far
So now your gone
And Im all alone
Alone with my lonely heart
He let it fall apart
He didn't care enough
I lost your precious love
You'd be here
Still be here
In my arms
If not for his careless heart
You'd still be loving me
If not for his careless heart
You'd still be mine
I'd be loving you
You'd be loving me
I'd be holding you
You'd be holding me
I'd be loving you
If not for his Careless heart.
With love from me to you
Beatle Chick

Well your song is wonderfull!
Every time I think that John's death anniversary gets close I feel really sad.His loss was one of the worst things that have happened to the world of music generally,Of course it is impossible for me to visit England or America and the only thing I need to say is
God bless him
For all his contribution to the world of music and to my world
John I love you!!!

I'll be thinking of John a lot next Saturday too. But although I'll wear some black, listen to his songs, and maybe shed a tear or two, I'll still write. John may have sang "The Dream is Over," but it will never be over as long as he lives in our hearts.

Great tribute Beatle Chick. good job on the song!!
Whenever I think about John at this time of year,I think of what"Might have been" and everything that was taken away from the World that day. A life that was taken and in some ways just beginning. A terrible event the Fans will never forget. We can only "Imagine" what John with/without the Beatles would have accomplished with Music.

I hesitated opening this thread, because I knew it was about John's murder. I don't like me reminded of his death. I think a part of me is still in denial. I was 11 when he died and I remember it all very clearly. The reports on television, his face on the cover of every magazine. It was just incredible the outpouring of grief and nostalgia that erupted. I know he's dead, but even now there is a part of me that thinks of him as still living, still making records. That's how I prefer to think of him.

John will always be alive, as long as we keep remembering him. We know his music lives on and his spirit does as well. I'll never be able to forget that fateful night.

As a huge fan of John's....I totally hear where you're coming from. Granted, I wasn't born early enough, and I didn't live through Beatlemania..I'm still a 110% devoted beatle fan. John has inspired me beyond belief both artistically and peacefully (I guess you'd say). He was a beautiful person that just wanted peace and love....and he should not have had to leave us in such a way that he did. December 8 will always make me cry....and I will always find myself wearing black in honer of John. And even of George still too! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif Well...regardless if John is with us or not...his music and legacy will live on forever in the hearts and ears of all Beatle/John fans. May he and George reunite once more..and may they happily rest in peace. They are greatly missed.
Peace&Love~
Cynthia

I agree with all of you. I really like what BearKat said about John always being part of us since we will never forget him and we will always have his art.

I miss him still as if it were yesterday, and George's death brought back a lot of feelings for John. I have a beautiful pic of them singing as my wallpaper on pc.
Sad...they were the best. Are. Always.

I couldn't agree more. John will be always be with us. His music and his art will always be around for us to enjoy. I just can't believe it's been 21 years already! As some of you have said, it seemed like only yesterday, when John left us. However, I won't dwell on the negative, but I will remember what John gave to all of us as a musician, and as a person.

I wasn't born yet when John died but I have no doubt in my mind and heart that he is alive because we've kept his spirit and memories of him alive. The more I learn about him, the more I'm fascinated and intrigued(I hope I spelled that right)by him. He was truely wonderful and I wish I was around when he was.
