From LBFC MAGAZINE: "The topic will form part of a course exploring social and technological changes since 1930. Teachers of children between nine and eleven can discuss Lennon's life and lyrics, but are being warned about danger areas like drugs, moral issues and unsuitable vocabulary in his work. Youngsters are expected to discuss songs like Imagine as starting points to look at social and cultural change. Schools have the option of choosing between studying the 2nd world war and famous figures who have made a significant contribution to the history of Britian.

I wish I could go back in time and be a primary school kid again!!!
I think the other Beatles should be part of it too!

The only musical artists we had to study were the likes of Francis Scott Key and James Cohan. It's good that John's work is now available as a school course. Maybe soon, the remaining Beatles wil also has courses taught about them.

I think also that a number of different courses and subjects on the Beatles themselves are offered at a lot of British schools and universities nowadays. That would be http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cool2.gif to do one of those.

When I was taught music in school I must
have
been in year 9 my 3rd year in secondary
school. We were told about the Beatles
and got to study some of their songs.
I can't really remember much but I know
that we listened to A Day In The Life,
and talked about it for weeks. We then had
to do a work sheet. I think Ive still got
it somewhere, If I find it I'll show you.
It was really cool.
