According to one list moderator (and is that Dave Stewart, as in Dave Stewart
of Eurythmics????? COOL!):
The Cyndi Lauper website reports that Shelby Lynne's web site is reporting
the following are to appear: Shelby Lynne, Dave Stewart, Moby, Bob Dylan,
Cyndi Lauper, Bette Midler, Mary Tyler Moore (haven't quite figured out the
Lennon connection w/ MTM!).
Rolling Stone mag has reported others to be Beck, Moby, Alanis Morrissette.
A few months ago, Ananova reported that Julian Lennon was invited to appear.
No word yet to confirm his attendance.

Sounds great. The only connection I can think of is that she's a vegetarian.

Being a 60's icon herself, and more than likely a Beatle fan, I can see why she would want to be there.

I saw something similiar on a news wire yesterday. As for Mary Tyler Moore making an appearance, could be because her initials, MTM, are very similiar to a certain movie. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

TNT's Lennon Tribute Lineup Confirmed
Stone Temple Pilots, Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper, Lou Reed, and Seal have been confirmed to perform at TNT's Sept. 20 "Come Together: A Night for John Lennon" concert. The artists join previously confirmed (http://www.billboard.com/billboard/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1020159) performers Beck, Marc Anthony, Moby, Nelly Furtado, and Shelby Lynne (http://www.billboard.com/billboard/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1023385).
To be held at New York's Radio City Music Hall, the event will be hosted by actor Kevin Spacey, and feature a house band led by musical director Dave Stewart (Eurythmics). His band will be made up of guitarists Larry Campbell and Jon Herington, saxophonists Arno Hecht (alto) and Crispin Cioe (tenor), trumpeter Laurence Etkin, trombonist Robert Funk, drummer Steve Holley, bassist T-Bone Wolk, keyboardist Bob Mayo, and percussionist Bashiri Johnson.
Along with many musical performances, the tribute will include segments that feature, in his own voice and words, Lennon's thoughts on such subjects as children, the future, and violence. The special, the latest in TNT's Masters Series, will air Oct. 9 on the cable network.
"One person can change the world, but we all shine on," said Yoko Ono, co-executive producer of the event, in a statement.
As previously reported, tickets -- priced from $53.50 to $203.50 -- will go on sale to the public on Thursday (Aug. 30) at 10 a.m. via radiocity.com (http://www.radiocity.com/) and Ticketmaster. A special 12-hour, password-protected Internet pre-sale for members of Radio City's "Backstage Access" (http://www.radiocity.com/c1.html) program begins at 9 a.m. a day earlier.
Proceeds will benefit the Violence Policy Center (http://www.vpc.org/) and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence (http://www.bradycenter.org/) united with the Million Mom March (http://www.millionmommarch.org/chapters/national/index.cfm).
