Including those he did while he was with that other band, you know, before "The Plastic Ono Band"...

My favorites are (in random order):

"Be my baby" (love the intro, one instrument at a time), "Slippin' and slidin' " & "Be-bop-a-lu-la" (a lot of energy on those), "Stand by me", "Baby it's you" & "Anna" (beautiful voice on those), and..."Twist and shout" of course!

Hmmm, one of my favorite Beatles cover's he did was (and also which I think is best) 'To Know Her is to Love Her' off of Live at the BBC. Another Beatle favorite/best is 'You Really Got a Hold on Me.' As for solo Beatles, some of the best he did were 'Stand By Me,' 'Slippin' and Slidin,' and 'Peggy Sue.'

My favorites include "Be-Bop-A-Lula," "Send Me Some Lovin'," "Twist and Shout," and "Rock and Roll Music." Probably the only cover John did that wasn't better (IMO) than the original is "You Can't Catch Me." Berry did a better job of interpreting that one.

Oh yeah, love that one!! I'm a dancer, so two of my favorites would have to be "Slow Down" and "Bad Boy" because they're so easy to dance to!

I wish John would've covered more tunes. Probably my fave is "You Really got a Hold on me"

You Really Got A Hold On Me takes on a life of it's own.

Rock and Roll Music could be the best Chuck Berry cover of all time. (Better than Chuck himself).

Anyone see/hear the Beatles' version of "Shout"? There's a snippet of in on Anthology 1, but they also did a longer version on a TV special. They all sing on it; John does the beginning and end bits.

Yeah, that one's on "Ready, Steady, Go!" I love that song (all 4 Beatles participate on it) and I LOVE John's closing line: "God bless you. You've got a lucky face. The end."
