Bearkatt, Tim, or NoWhere Man :

Is there a Demo version of John's "Free As A Bird" available without Paul, George, Ringo, and Jeff Lynne's input when the song was recorded back in 1977..? It would nice to here John's solo version without the other fellas input. Thanks,

Thank you for asking me, Glen! Oh wait, you DIDN'T ask me...http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/tongue.gif But really, there IS a demo of Free As A Bird with just John. At the beginning before he starts playing, he goes, "Free...As A Boid." It's cool, it's just him 'n a piano. I found it on Napster.

John's original demo can be found on a few different bootlegs (most notably Artifacts III - Disc 4) but if you can find one on Napster for nothing then great! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup.gif

If your into bootlegs, a good one is "John Lennon *Free as a bird* the dakota beatle demos"It has two takes of the song take one is the one that starts with "Free as a boid" And at the begining of take 3 Johns says "Helloa free three".

Yes, "Free As A Bird" was a demo when the others got it to add their work to it. Anytime a "free" version pops up, they're the best kind to get. I'll have to see if I can get it now. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif
