I'm just getting interested in all of the Beatles' solo work...but I get confused. I've heard nearly all of the albums' names but I was wondering if one of you experts could make a list of John's albums in the order they were released and when? It would be a great help. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I'll give it a try off the top of my head.

Plastic Ono Band- The very end of 1970
Imagine- around the end of summer 1971
Sometime in New York City- late summer 1972 (?)
Mind Games ( http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/teeth1.gif ) - fall 1973
Walls and Bridges- the end of summer 1974
Rock 'n' Roll- Summer 1975
Double Fantasy- fall 1980
Milk and Honey- sometime in 1983 or 84

------------------
This week, the Beatles' greatest hits album, "1", is at number twenty-three on the USA album charts.

Well, you didn't mention the re-release of "Plastic Ono Band" or "Double Fantasy" from last year. What about that, http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cat.gif ?

What? You mean "Plastic Ono Band" was re-released? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif You know we didn't get that here... Such a pity. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry.gif

So...besides the Imagine album (which I am for sure starting out with) which albums should I check out first? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

And another thing...I was posting on the similar thread than this: Paul's thread for the list of albums, and after I posted it renamed it 9:49: PM and all the posts disappeared!! Was it some sort of glitch or something? It scared me!!

Yeah, that's one of those "problems" that we have sometimes. Jerry can fix it. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Anyway, I would start with "Plastic Ono Band" or "Walls and Bridges" first (after "Imagine" of course, that was my first too). They're both great albums well worth the purchase price. Happy listening!

A good John album for a "fun" listen would have to be Rock 'n' Roll.

Sometimes (most often, I've found, although not always), when 2 or more forum members are posting replies at the same time (even in different forums), one or more don't get translated well, or updated correctly or whatever this script does. It will recognize the last post on the main forums page, and even on the main page for the forum it's posted in, but it doesn't show up. I've found that replying to the message usually makes it available for viewing. Since I don't always know what it is I'm replying to, I've taken to just announcing that my intention is to find it http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif Now, if the topic itself is just a one-pager, it will show up at the bottom of the page once I've clicked reply. I can read it then, without bothering to reply, but since it still won't be available for everyone else to see until someone actually does reply... I'm just going to go ahead and reply to 'em anyway!

The video to Imagine? I don't know quite what you mean, but I have the Making Of Imagine DVD, which I saw yesterday. It had videos to go with the music, and showed John in the studio a lot. It was really interesting, and I loved it!! Also, I can't stop listening to the Imagine album. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/teeth1.gif

The tape I'm talking about was called "John Lennon - Imagine" and released on Sony. It's a Video LP of the album. It's catalogue #RO429VH and has an approximate running time of 55 minutes.
The songs on this tape are as follows:
"Imagine", "Crippled Inside", "Jealous Guy", "Don't Count The Waves", "It's So Hard", "Mrs. Lennon", "I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier Mama I Don't Want To Die", "Power To The People", "Gimme Some Truth", "Oh My Love", "How Do You Sleep?", "How?" and "Oh Yoko!" Each song has its own video. It's really http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cool2.gif
