I found this story on the internet told by a guy who played saxophone during the Walls and Bridges sessions in 1974. I wrote in his guestbook and he e-mailed me back and told me I could share the story...so I thought I'd post it here. Enjoy! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

This week, the Beatles' greatest hits album, "1", is at number twenty-six on the USA album charts.

That is a fascinating story. Wish I could have been on one of those middle of the night walks with them.

That was such a sad story. If John had had tons of bodyguards and hadn't talked to anyone he might have been safer but he wouldn't have been John.

Kristi! What a lovely story...I know exactly what he meant, though, about John not being paranoid enough about NYC...but that would have changed him into a different person. I'm glad the kind, genuine, unaffected John lived here, though I am sorry he died here as well. But remember -- it wasn't a New Yorker who killed him, so perhaps it wouldn't have helped anyway.

Thanks for sharing this site with us!

Always lovely to have a little insight into who the Beatles were as people!

I keep hearing such things about John! They must be true! What a sweet soul!
