Unconfirmed report: George nominated for Rock Hall of Fame

Ken Dashow, a DJ for Q104.3 here in New York, just announced that George has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year!!!! Finally! Other nominees include the Pretenders, Jackson Browne, Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, the Sex Pistols, John Melencamp, Van Halen, Prince, Gram Parsons, Laura Nyro and Traffic.

That's great news, thanks Shygirl! I hope it is true. It is about time George got some individual recognition like this. Just a shame they couldn't have done it while he was alive.

I have contacted the R&R Hall Of Fame a few weeks ago and they had nothing planned like this then.

I will try to get an update from them.

As Siobhan said, this is great news -- but it should have happened when George was still alive. I'm not sure how much it would have mattered to him, though.
