A CALIFORNIA-BASED film company has made a documentary on The Beatles.

The feature-length movie includes interviews with people who knew the band members from the early 1960s through to the present day.

Production company Amstell Entertainment visited Liverpool on several occasions over the past two years to film at locations across the city.

Featured in the documentary are Eleanor Rigby's grave in St Peter's churchyard, Woolton, and the nearby church hall, where John Lennon first met Sir Paul McCartney at a summer fete.

The film is directed by Victor Spinetti who was involved in the making of the Beatles' film A Hard Day's Night.

It includes a selection of rare early photographs of the band, owned by a private collector in Germany.

The film also features a 30-minute interview with The Beatles' original manager Alan Williams.

Alan Solomon, president of Amstell Entertainment and executive producer of the documentary, who was at the Cannes Film Festival to promote it, said: "We spent more than two years collecting it all together and have used lots of original news footage as well as the interviews and photographs."

The documentary is expected to be released on video in this country in the summer.

I want to know more about this, too. I am moving this to Act Naturally because I think we'll catch more eyes over there.
