Pete Best will be appearing at the worlds biggest autograph show next week here in UK, immediately after his current UK tour. Event is called Autographica and info is at http://www.autographica.co.uk/ .

Pete will be doing signings on the afternoon of Sat May 10th, and all day on Sun May 11th. Should be a cool one. If anyones ever wanted to meet Pete then its a great chance as this show is really relaxed and enjoyable, not like most autograph shows at all.

In case anyones never been to a show like this -- theres an admission charge, and theres a charge for autographs. Almost all shows like this do the same. Site has prices for admission. They don't mention the price for autographs but at that show its never a really big price.

The site says Pete will have photos, CDs and his book available for purchase, or fans can bring their own items and pay to have them signed. And cool thing is theres no limit on the number of items can bring for signing.

And also cool is that if you get something signed then can have your own photo taken with Pete as well, for free, as long as bring your own camera of course.

Look! He thinks he's a real Beatle!

Sorry, had to get that out of my system graemlins/wink3.gif

He is still CHARGING for his autograph, I see...sorry, but that burns me. It really burns me...

I met Pete about 10 or so years ago, and I was dumb enough to be willing to part with money for his sig. I wouldn't do it now. He was nice enough, don't get me wrong, but you had to pay $10 EACH to get something signed, and on the album I brought, he signed it in black ink on a VERY dark part of the picture, so you can't even see it. And if you'd brought more than one thing, it was $10 each for EVERY item you wanted signed. I got a picture with him -- he said maybe two words the whole time I was standing there, and I will say frankly that I KNOW why he didn't fit in with the other Beatles, because even though he's a really nice guy, he isn't the most scintillating personality I've ever run across...

Still, the idea that he CHARGES for his autograph...it boggles the mind.

I was cleaning out my room a few weeks ago (gasp!...it's still not done...lol), and I found a Pete Best autograph (signed to me and everything) on the back of a Hamburg-era photo of the Beatles. When I first found it, I couldn't remember where the heck it had came from. I went around the house asking is anyone recognized it (no one did). A little while later I remembered that a friend of mine had gotten it for me at a convention in Liverpool or something. I hope he didn't have to pay for it...(especially since I almost forgot about the whole thing!) graemlins/laugh2.gif

Yes Pete was a Beatle, but not one of The Beatles.

Pete will always be a Beatle...

I fortunately had a great experience
when I meet Pete last month.
There didn't seem to be a limit to what he would sign, I myself had only brought two items.
I saw a few other people with more.
I'm also happy to add there wasn't a charge nor did you have to purchase anything.
He was pleasant and also very patient when my camera wouldn't work. He joked with me and was nothing less than a nice guy..
