CLOSING/MOVING TOPICS

Why was my Paul McCartney night topic closed and moved to Paul McCartney. I mean, McCartney also means the entire Lennon/McCartney songbook so I think that pertains to the BEATLES since they wrote almost all the songs. I mean, they will be SINGING BEATLE SONGS, not exclusive McCartney songs.

ALSO, I'd like to point out that RED ROSE SPEEDWAY is not visible sometimes on the BEATLES FORUM board and I have to go completely out sometimes to even FIND IT. sometimes it's a pain when topics that should co-exist on the Beatles part are dragged over to the solo sides.

I mean, this is BEATLE news. I THINK IT IS VERY UNFAIR to take that from the BEATLE part and put it in McCArtney that might deprive BEATLES people of talking about it - or maybe even SEEING IT when it drops out of sight.

I mean, do you really think the singers will be doing songs from RAM? I just think you're being unfair to Lennon fans and also McCartney fans who don't go that far south.

you probably were only looking at the Beatles Forums page when you were looking for the Red Rose Speedway. as long as you have Fab Forum activated, you will see EVERY forum. i used to make that same mistake all the time. i agree that it is a flaw in the site.

and this message was probably misplaced as well. perhaps you should have PMed a moderator, or replied to your Paul thread that got moved. a lot of us have had stuff moved...it's nothing personal.

Hi, heir; I'm the moderator who moved your topic. My co-moderator and I occasionally move news topics to the solo forums when we think more fans will see them there. Sometimes topics can fit into a couple of the forums, so it comes down to a judgment call. From what I read about this episode in an earlier news article, I thought the focus was on Paul McCartney, not necessarily on Lennon-McCartney. In your topic, you also seemed to be quite interested in the song selection, and to me that sounded like something diehard McCartney fans might be most interested in discussing. So that's why I moved your topic; please don't take it personally. images/icons/smile.gif If you use the tip onosideboards gave you, you should be able to see all of the forums, so that should solve the problem of not being able to find the solo forums occasionally. Also, if you want to find a current topic, you can click on "Today's Topics" at the top of the screen. From there, you can find any current topic no matter what forum it's in.

No one here is trying to upset you, heir. The moderators are here to see that things run smoothly in all the forums. If a topic is moved, there is a good reason for it. As for having the exact same topic in two or more forums, it can lead to confusion among some members.

BTW, I should move this topic as well. Any questions about the way things are handled here should be posted in the Tell Me Why forum. I'm just going to close this topic for now.
