With an all-new concert special on the way, Paul McCartney sat down with TV Guide to talk about Heather Mills, being a vegetarian -- and why he no longer smokes pot! Tonight on ET, get an inside look at this incredible interview.
"I don't get stoned," reveals Paul. "I used to smoke a lot. But it doesn't seem necessary anymore. I have no problem with people doing it."
Fresh from his sold-out "Back in the U.S." tour, Paul's TV special airs Wednesday, November 27 on ABC. The show provides a front-row seat and a backstage pass with Paul and features such star-struck fans as Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Bill Clinton. The concert includes songs from his 2001 album, Driving Rain, plus tunes from his days with Wings and, of course, plenty of Beatles hits.
In the interview, Paul also talks about the flak Heather's taken in the press for marrying a rock icon: "[My former wife] Linda got rubbished in the first year or so. And then she was established and people got over it. It's a bit par for the course. But you know, get over it!"
He goes on to rave about her skills as a cook: "My favorite thing is coming home from work, and she's there, and she's got a great meal on. And the smell! And she looks great. Life is not bad at all." A staunch vegetarian for 25 years, Paul provides only a strict veggie diet for his crew. "I'm not paying for meat. They all get an allowance. I say, 'You want meat? Pop out to McDonald's.' But nobody does. They eat here because it's free and it's from the best restaurant in town."
