I try not to take these polls seriously because they're all whacked, but come on! "I will always love you" and "My heart will go on"?????? BLECH. I do find it amusing that they snuck a Frank Sinatra song in there though. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Gawd, I hate that #1 song with a passion. It annoys me to no end with her AIIIYEEEYIEEEIII'shttp://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/scream3.gifhttp://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/chainsaw.gif On another board we voted it as the worst song ever. It lost the crown to "Feelings", but it stayed in the running for quite a while. Celine's #3 song was also a contender as a stinky one. Dave can back me up on this.
Well, at least they got one good one in the top five spot! VH-1 isn't too creditable with me as they ranked the Beatles as #25/100 of the sexiest artists. That was just so WRONG! BOOO! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsdown.gif

The majority of these songs...I don't like. Who compiled this list? Who voted for these songs? Better yet, who actually listens to these songs? Its like, "Maybe I'm Amazed" and...well...the rest.

OH and LOL Magill that description of Celine's songs fits my feeling of it perfectly

I realize these polls are really stupid, but I have to admit that I love "Maybe I'm Amazed," so I'm very happy it placed so highly. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif On the other hand you can take that boat song and the one put in the number one place down the trash compacter. I never liked them.

But having Celine on there ruins everything...My God! I remember watchign the music video with my friends who all loved the movie, and I wanted the damn boat to sink so bad because I knew the end was near...all I had to wait for was Celine's wail at the end of the song...

"I Will Always Love You", huh? Funny thing, cause it's a song about breaking up! It always makes me laugh when I go to a wedding and this is the song that couples choose to start their new life on. Do they even listen to any of the words besides "IIIEEIII Will Always Love You"?
Anyway, Maybe I'm Amazed--yes. All others in the top 5, http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsdown.gif

I was watching this earlier and I couldn't believe some of the crapola love songs they chose! Jeez! And many of those songs in the top 20 just want to make me vomit. I'm glad "Maybe I'm Amazed" was ranked high, but "Woman" should've been much higher. It totally beats "My Heart Will Go On" and "I Will Always Love You." Gag me...

Yeah, where is Something?
And Woman...oh my God, that is like one of my favorite songs of all time. Its SO beautiful. The whole damn thing is perfection, and I used to play it so much that I have the entire lyric completely memorized, even all the "ohhh yeah..." stuff. Where the hell is it?! You see. There is proof right there that that sub-par middle-of-the-road predictable list is complete shat.
They forgot Woman. And Something. And Here, There, and Everywhere is better than Maybe I'm Amazed. I think the majority of these artists have contracts with VH1 or something. They are on every list they ever make.

I agree. I think they have moved all the cool stuff to VH-1 classics which is only available in my area with digital cable (extra cost)which I don't have yet. Seriously thinking about getting it though. As bad as Vh-1 has been lately I can't believe that Paul and John even made the list!

Just personal opinion, but to me the #5 is the first acceptable song in the list, counting from #1 downwards.
Elvis - he's done much better things
Celine - always feel I want to give here something to eat
#1 - OK could be
Journey - never heard of it

20. "I Got You Babe" - Sonny & Chér
19. "If You Leave Me Now" - Chicago
14. "I Honestly Love You" - Olivia Newton-John
12. "How Deep Is Your Love" - The Bee Gees
8. "Your Song" - Elton John
6. "Unchained Melody" - Righteous Brothers
5. "Maybe I'm Amazed" - Paul McCartney
4. "Open Arms" - Journey
Only these eight are songs I enjoy hearing. As others have already said, "Something" should have been on this list. There are some other songs that should have made to Top 20, but my list is too long.
